Live away from the city but within easy reach of urban amenities in Whitehouse. Here, a mix of planned developments and scattered houses lie separated by large forests. If a private location is more you, look for rentals on the eastern side of the neighborhood. For a faster commute, check out residences on the southern side of Whitehouse, where I-10 is only minutes away.
Head 13 miles east to Downtown Jacksonville to enjoy a variety of entertainment venues, restaurants, and shops. When you want to stay closer to home, a few options cluster near the intersection of Chaffee Road and I-10, and the intersection of West Beaver Street and Bull Bay Highway. The barbecue ribs at Gators BBQ have a loyal following, while Hokkaido provides Japanese bento boxes and sushi.

Quiet, Friendly, and Safe on the Westside. Not perfect by any measure but certainly an excellent place for comfortable living. Travel in Jacksonville is pretty easy with the I95 dissecting North to South and I10 dissecting the East to West makes getting around this huge city fairly easy. Other than rush hours (which seems to be encompassing most of the day) traffic is pretty reasonable for a city this size. Being from a big city in the Northeast I know what traffic jams look like and this ain't it.
