Located about 35 miles west of Pittsburgh in northern West Virginia, Weirton is a peaceful small town nestled between the Pennsylvania and Ohio borders. Weirton contains a rich history in the steel industry, and was the country’s fifth largest steel producer at its height in the early 20th century.
Today, Weirton is home to “The City Forged by Steel” Art Competition, which encourages growth of the arts throughout Weirton. A host of local events foster a sense of community in Weirton, including the annual Independence Day Festival and the Christmas Parade.
