Pajarito - Albuquerque, NM Area Guide

Located in the lush South Valley area of Albuquerque, Pajarito is steeped in history. The neighborhood gets its name from the historic Pajarito Land Grant, which gives it a particularly strong Spanish character. For most of the city's past, Pajarito consisted of large farms and open spaces, which are still reflected in the spacious plots and charming homes for rent today. Despite its semi-rural feel, Pajarito provides easy access to I-25 for a quick commute to most of the city. When you're in the mood for a fun evening, head about 10 minutes south to Isleta Resort and Casino, which offers fine dining, live music, golf tournaments and more. For a more rustic experience, go just east over the Rio Grande River to the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge, which offers hiking, birdwatching, and educational events, or take a workshop at the historic Gutierrez-Hubbell House, which offers regular classes on topics ranging from local history to gardening techniques.
