Orchards is a quaint community located 20 miles northeast of Portland, Oregon and 10 miles north of Vancouver, Washington. Orchards is surrounded by the rural land it gets its name from while the city itself mostly consists of residential areas. Orchards’ shopping and dining choices are located along 117th Avenue, but additional restaurants and stores are located a bit west of the city at places like the Vancouver Plaza and the Vancouver Mall. Also situated west of Orchards is the Interstate 205 and Highway 500 intersection, making travel to surrounding areas accessible including the journey to the great outdoors. Just about every type of outdoor activity from hiking to camping can be done at the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and the Columbia River.
