Founded on the rich educational heritage of the Cherokee Nation, Northeastern State University has roots dating back to 1851. Blending respect for history with modern technology, NSU empowers students, faculty, staff, and the community to reach their full potential by creating and expanding a culture of learning, discovery, and diversity. NSU’s main campus is located in Tahlequah, at the foot of the Ozark Mountains. A broad range of townhomes, houses, and apartments are available for rent within close proximity to the NSU campus. Commuting to campus from farther distances is easy with access to the intersection of U.S. 62 and Route 82. Boasting a traditional college feel, NSU’s Tahlequah Campus is home to more than 80 student organizations and NCAA Division II RiverHawk athletics.
