Established in 1877, the University of Detroit Mercy has developed into one of the top-ranked regional colleges in the Midwest. The school is fairly small in both area and enrollment, with around 5,000 students occupying the compact campus in Detroit’s Martin Park neighborhood. The largest Roman Catholic university in Michigan, UDM puts a high value on community outreach and service among its students. Among its most prestigious areas of study are the highly-ranked business, management, and engineering programs.
