A gorgeous campus environment at the heart of the Azalea City

Public Suburban Walkable Historic VSU Blazers

Valdosta State University has been a fixture in the South Georgia academic community since 1906, and is well known throughout the region for constantly pushing itself and its students to higher levels of achievement. In addition to the terrific educational and research opportunities, the competitive Blazers athletic department earned Valdosta a “TitleTown USA” designation from ESPN in 2008. The campus displays a unique aesthetic, with the many palm trees and magnificent Spanish Mission-style architecture evoking the feel of southern California more than southern Georgia.

The city of Valdosta provides a beautiful setting, with its moss-draped oaks and historic architecture creating and environment rich with Southern charm. The Valdosta State campus sits only a few blocks north of Downtown, making it easy to take advantage of the city’s terrific dining and nightlife. Enjoy the classic Southern fare at Steel Magnolias or swing by Sam’s BBQ for a no-nonsense rack of ribs.

Just twenty miles from the Florida state line, you’re within day trip distance of the Gulf of Mexico’s sparkling beaches and just a short hop away from Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa. Valdosta State’s campus is mostly surrounded by residential neighborhoods, with countless apartments, houses, and condos within easy walking distance.
