Established as a community college in 1957, the College of Central Florida began offering bachelor degree programs in 2010. Serving a student body of nearly 20,000, CF’s four-year programs include Business & Organizational Management, Nursing, and Early Childhood Education. The campus sits just off I-75 with two major shopping centers and a multiplex movie theater practically next door. The surrounding neighborhoods offer numerous apartments, houses, and condos just a short walk away. A few blocks northeast of campus, Ocala’s city center offers a popular assortment of restaurants and bars, with the historic Marion Theatre screening first-run movies at the corner of Fort King and Magnolia. Some of the region’s most beautiful natural attractions are close at hand, with Silver Springs State Park and Ocala National Forest just minutes away. Daytona Beach is just a short hop to the east, and the theme parks in Orlando can be reached in just over an hour.
