Tucked between the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains along the Arkansas River, Arkansas Tech University is surrounded by natural beauty. Students enjoy a forested campus near a variety of outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, fishing, boating, and more. Established in 1909, Tech has one of the state's highest graduation rates and is the fastest-growing university in Arkansas. Russellville is the ideal college town, complete with a historic downtown shopping district and several nearby companies like Tyson Foods. First settled in 1834 as Cactus Flats, the town definitely exudes an Old West vibe. The River Valley Arts Center, alongside Main Street Russellville, offers a wide variety of art festivals, live music, and special events. The Pope County Fairgrounds is home to the county fair as well as numerous other events like horse-racing and conventions. When looking at apartments near Arkansas Tech University, look along Arkansas Avenue, especially north of West K Street.
