Morningside is a small suburb only 25 minutes from Washington D.C. This town is proud of its connection to the nation’s political epicenter and called themselves the “Gateway to the Nation’s Capital.” Presidents, members of Congress, and even royalty have traveled through the tree-lined streets of Morningside while heading to their flights. The town is also close to several government offices including the Census Bureau. Morningside is best known for being adjacent to Air Force Base Andrews.
This small town is a great location for commuters with quick access to rail service and Interstates. There are two parks in Morningside but most residents travel out of town to access even more amenities. Centre at Forestville, a shopping center featuring department stores, national brands, and chain restaurants, is only 10 minutes away. The area has access to some good schools as well and is less than 30 minutes from the historic Howard University.
