Okemos is a smaller town near a university that brings it more life. I have always been interested in continuing my education.

Okemos is a relatively safe community, and I particularly like how it's beginning to become more diverse as it ages. It's not overwhelmingly big and everything is relatively easy to get to by car. However, there's not much to do around Okemos and I'd like to see at least the downtown area finally be worked on as there's not much there, but the project keeps being delayed.

The race of the community is diverse. People are friendly and welcoming. There are lots of convenient stores at close proximity. I hope that the restaurant qualities are better and there were more diverse cuisines.

We've been in Okemos for about 18 years. It is a family-friendly city with excellent public schools. Okemos High School is one of the Michigan's top High Schools. Okemos has grown exponentially in recent years with the addition of many new sub-divisions. I have met people who moved to Okemos simply because of its renowned Public-School Systems. It set apart from nearby cities Williamston and Holt for its diversity. Okemos residents are typically middle aged looking to raise their children in a safe environment with the best public schools. Another advantage being close proximity to Michigan State university and University of Michigan.
