I may be bias because this is home but the culture is vibrant. Of course there is violence anywhere I go but I feel as if there is general understanding of what is appropriate to do in the neighborhood.

Little village is good. I have grown up in Little village all my life. I enjoy going to the park on the 31st and Keeler. I have had so many memories here. There are stores mostly everywhere on 26th street like a plaza. When it's warm outside there are people selling food.

My experience in Little Village has been good. I have lived in Little Village all of my life. Something that I enjoy about Little Village is the people, they are very nice and friendly. Growing in Little Village I have developed various close relationships with my neighbors. Another thing I enjoy is the food. There are a lot of great Mexican restaurants. Finally something I enjoy are the activities. Throughout the year there are various carnivals, events and parades. Something That I don't like about my neighborhood is the gang violence. There are two major gangs in Little Village and oftentimes these gangs are fighting against each other. There have been many incidents where innocent lives were taken because of the gangs. There needs to be improvement when it comes to gang violence in my neighborhood.

It can be dangerous at times but it has a nice sense of community. Growing up here was quite calm. It is made up of primarily Mexican and Mexican-American population. Over the summer there are countless outdoor activities and fests that can be enjoyable for both kids and adults. Neighbors know each other and often make block parties as well. 26th street is a beautiful place with a lot of places worth checking out. There is a nice split between homes and businesses and is the "second highest grossing shopping district in the city." There are plenty of parks constantly filled with kids. Often organizations arrange family events with activities encouraging children to go out and play. It can be unsafe because of the gangs but I personally haven't had any negative experiences with them.
