Lenoir City is a venerable small town on the shores of the Tennessee River

Community River Historic Park-Like Close-Knit

Lenoir City sits just 25 miles southwest of Knoxville, and has a character all its own. Set along the shores of the Tennessee River, Lenoir City holds historic homes and a rich history for residents to experience. Settled in 1810 and incorporated nearly 100 years later, the city had a tumultuous past thanks to disagreements as to who settled it first. Today, it’s seen new developments and a large influx of residents, though it still remains quite small with a population hovering around 9,000.

Lenoir City’s mild climate makes it an ideal locale for those looking to settle outside a city, or somewhere with a rural feel that isn’t completely devoid of attractions. There are the requisite big-box stores and chains on the east side, but if you’re looking for local fare, Lee Highway houses a number of restaurants and cafes not far from the water.

Creekwood Park, one of Lenoir City’s newest developments, offers upscale apartment living with numerous amenities, but renters off all types will appreciate the area’s tight-knit community and picturesque setting.
