Downtown Honolulu sits a mere five miles west, via Interstate Highway 1 or the local transportation system, TheBus. Cyclists and pedestrians find this area safe, welcoming, and very bikeable and walkable. Dimond Head State Monument, locally known as Leahi, forms the southern border of the neighborhood. Locals and tourists alike make the climb to the top of the dormant volcanic crater to enjoy spectacular views of Waikiki, Downtown Honolulu, and beyond.
