Laidback Historic Quaint Community Rural

Hillsboro is a tight-knit suburban community located a little less than an hour south of Dallas-Fort Worth. There’s a variety of housing styles in this intimate city. Close to the city center you’ll find more venerable homes and apartments, but there’s a more classic suburban feel and look and you move out towards the I-35. There’s plenty of space on offer in Hillsboro.

Historic Downtown Hillsboro has a number of appealing sites and buildings that bring a classic Texas feel to the town. The Texas Theatre, Hill County Courthouse, and First Baptist Church contribute to the overall architectural history of the city.

There are a few stores and a strip mall on the east side of town to keep residents entertained, but the real draw of Hillsboro is its laid-back feel. Up north is Wallace Park and Hillsboro City Park, providing playgrounds and access to plenty of sports fields. Hillsboro is a fantastic springboard for surrounding outdoor destination, with Lake Whitney just 20 minutes west of the town.
