Emerson sits on the shores of the Oradell Reservoir about seven miles northeast of Paramus. This northern New Jersey borough makes for a scenic suburban escape. Long-standing businesses, charming streetscapes, and characterful apartment and home rentals mean Emerson is a fantastic choice for families, professionals, and anyone who likes a little peace and quiet with their suburban community. Kinderkamack Road is where you’ll find cafes, fast food, Thai restaurants, salons, and more. There’s a number of community parks that remain well-maintained throughout the year. You can also enjoy the view over the Reservoir or at Emerson Woods on its shores.
The Garden State Parkway is just to the west of Emerson, and as a major New Jersey thoroughfare it makes it easy to commute or travel throughout the state and down into New York City.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
