The cities of Livermore, Dublin and Pleasanton form a loosely shaped triangle within California's Tri-Valley region, a cluster of three small valleys about 33 miles east of San Francisco and 35 miles northeast of San Jose. Known for its Mediterranean climate, rolling hills and historic vineyards, this once bucolic region now boasts three separate downtown areas, a bustling business community and some of the best wineries in the state.
At the eastern end of the region lies the city of Livermore. Once known as Livermores, Livermore Ranch and Nottingham, the city sits at the center of Livermore Valley, a historic region dotted with more than 5,000 acres of mostly family-owned vineyards. A pastoral neighborhood known for its charming yet functional hilltop windmills, Livermore hosts the internationally recognized and sometimes controversial center of scientific research, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories.
Southwest of Livermore lies the city of Pleasanton, a thriving community where old and new blend to create a rich and varied lifestyle for the nearly 72,000 residents. With a vibrant business community, neighborhood parks and friendly downtown, Pleasanton offers some of the best quality of life available in the East Bay.
Dublin, one of the fastest growing cities in the East Bay, sits at the northwest tip of the triangle. Family oriented and culturally diverse, Dublin’s 15 square miles contain 17 parks, three open-space regions, six shopping centers and Regal Hacienda Crossings, the largest movie event venue in the East Bay.
As of December 2025, the average apartment rent in Dublin/Pleasanton/Livermore is $2,338 for a studio, $2,469 for one bedroom, $2,926 for two bedrooms, and $3,651 for three bedrooms. Apartment rent in Dublin/Pleasanton/Livermore has increased by 1.5% in the past year.

It's been quite the place to be, with lots of places to see. Dublin is green, and that's neat. We love to throw festivals every now and then to have a community spirit event.

I love Dublin. There are many restaurants, stores, and everything seems nearby. The schools are great, and it is an amazing place to live.

Dublin is a great city with many things to do. There are lots of easy access to resources and many stores all around.

Dublin's schools are overly competitive and the city is overcrowded. Despite having a surplus of residents, there is somehow nothing of enjoyment to do in this town. It is an average environment for students.
