Nestled along the Columbia River, Dallesport is a quiet mountain town within the Cascade Mountain range. Cozy, cabin-like houses and apartments with views of snowcapped mountains are available for every budget. The rural town is located in the eastern end of the Columbia Scenic Area, which is known for its picturesque scenery and watersports, especially windsurfing and salmon fishing. Locals flock to Columbia Hills Historical State Park, a 3,637-acre park great for swimming, rock climbing, hiking, and more. Dallesport is best known for being home to the Columbia Gorge Regional Airport. Dallesport is predominately residential, so most residents drive to the Dalles across the river for work and play. The Dalles’ downtown strip is a local favorite with charming wineries, laid-back cafes, chill breweries, and diverse eateries. Be sure to check out the National Neon Sign Museum once you find your perfect apartment. If you want a total change of scenery or more option for shopping, dining, and entertainment, Seattle is only an hour and a half drive away — the perfect distance for a weekend trip.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
