Outdoors Suburban Community Relaxed Jogging Trails

10 miles south of Lake Erie, Chardon is a charming small town located within the “Snow Belt” of the Buckeye State. Chardon has an average of 78 inches of snow per year, making it a wonderland for snowflake lovers. Chardon is a part of Geauga County, which is known around the world for being one of the best places to make maple syrup. The suburban town has good schools, making it a great place to raise families.

For fun, you can find the community spending their time outdoors. There are several golf courses and parks in the area. Take a stroll down a portion of the Buckeye Trail, a 1,444-mile hiking pathway that loops through wooded trails, rivers, and abandoned railroads to give a special perspective of the state. Chardon also has a very strong performing arts scene. The Geauga Lyric Theater Guild produces a series of youth shows and plays. The theater also offers dances classes.

Chardon locals are extremely proud of their town. The community is busiest when they host special events honoring the town’s uniqueness. Winterfest celebrates Chardon’s snowy weather featuring carriage rides, ice sculpting, sled dogs, and more. There is even a grand finale showcasing the lighting of a seven-foot fire and ice tower. One of the biggest events of the year is the annual Geauga County Maple Festival.
