Canon City is also home to the nation’s highest suspension bridge, the Royal Gorge Bridge, which hovers 1,000 feet above the Arkansas River. Big-city conveniences are within a two-hour drive of Canon City in Colorado Springs and Denver. Getting around from Canon City is easy with access to U.S. 50 and Route 155 as well as the Fremont County Airport.
