Extending from Old Hammond Highway south to roughly Perkins Road, the downtown Baton Rouge neighborhood of Bocage provides easy access to many Baton Rouge locations, including Baton Rouge Community College, Baton Rouge Country Club, and Louisiana State University. Independence Community Park, which features the Botanic Gardens, the Main Library, and the Independence Park Theatre, is just north of Bocage. The Mall of Louisiana, a large indoor shopping mall, is located on the south side of the neighborhood. Bocage is less than two miles southeast of Downtown Baton Rouge and less than five miles northeast of LSU.
