Bishop has a bold art scene as well. The area is a popular spot for photographers and muralists who are inspired by the town’s unparalleled natural scenery and rich history. Bishop is rural but feels like a busy city with quirky events running from March to December. One of the biggest events of the years is Bishop Mule Days Celebration. This five-day celebration brings in over 30,000 visitors. Over 700 trainers, riders, and mules compete in 14 shows that include chariot racing, team roping, and more. The highlight of the event is the parade along Main Street that is the longest non-motorized parade in the nation.
