Beechwood Rochester, NY

A historic neighborhood next to Downtown Rochester

Historic Community Quaint

Beechwood is a historic neighborhood two miles from Downtown Rochester. Named after the famous Beech-Nut baby food company that was once located in the neighborhood, Beechwood continues to elegantly balance the old and new. The charming neighborhood features classic architectural elements like gumwood trim and stained-glass windows while offering rentals with renovated modern interiors. This close-knit neighborhood has an active neighborhood association and is filled with non-profits, art organizations, and locally owned shops and restaurants.

Because Beechwood neighbors Downtown Rochester, residents have easy access to a plethora of shopping, dining, and entertainment. Residents love walking to the Public Market for fresh produce and specialty foods. This public market has been a city tradition since 1905, featuring more than 300 vendors. Local florists, cafes, and breweries also set up shop on the market grounds. The Hungerford building on East Main Street houses the studios of many Beechwood artists and opens to the general public twice a month while several theaters nearby offer even more entertainment.

There's not much of a community. It feels divided.

The atmosphere of this area is great, the environment is great. If I could do it all over and had to choose an area to live in Rochester I'll gladly choose this area.

Looking for a job may be hard to find at times. You have to be consistent and determined. One of the top employers and best companies to work for is Wegmans Food Markets.
