Located in northeast Texas near the Arkansas border and about 22 miles southwest of Texarkana, Atlanta is a small city that was established in 1871. Many of the early settlers came from Atlanta, Georgia, and they named their new Texas home in its honor. Today, people seeking a natural setting filled with trees, rivers, and lakes find Atlanta a terrific option. Add to it a very low crime rate, low cost of living, and fantastic parks, and Atlanta’s family-friendly atmosphere is hard to resist.

Many of the shops, restaurants, and businesses are located in the heart of the city, extending from Main Street north along Louise Street.
