Centrally located an hour’s drive north of Fort Myers and an hour’s drive east of Sarasota, Arcadia is a small town with a rich cattle-raising past. Cowboy culture is pervasive in Arcadia, which hosts a number of rodeo competitions including the prominent Arcadia All-Florida Championship Rodeo.
Arcadia also boasts plenty of watermelon fields and orange groves in addition to a charming downtown area listed on the National Register, which is packed with antique shops, delicious eateries, and specialty stores. A bevy of special events bring the community together in Arcadia, such as the annual DeSoto County Fair, Watermelon Festival, and various car shows and parades.
Arcadia is convenient to numerous recreational opportunities on the Peace River, Morgan Park, and the nearby Myakka River State Park. Getting around from Arcadia is simple with convenience to U.S. 17 and Route 70.
