Rising out of the prairies and cornfields of the heartland, Omaha serves as a cultural wellspring and economic powerhouse for the region. Downtown has seen a lot of development in recent years, and now serves up a huge selection of trendy shopping, dining, and entertainment, particularly around the Old Market; the Blackstone neighborhood has also emerged as a new hotspot for adventurous restauranteurs and hip nightlife. The robust live music scene in Omaha is one of the city’s worst-kept secrets, with national publications singing the praises of popular venues like the Waiting Room and the annual Maha Music Festival at Stinson Park.
Omaha is serious about college sports – the University of Nebraska’s Cornhuskers are hometown heroes, and the city is the longtime home to the College World Series every summer.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at 8 Street Apartments
I love the location because its just off of the Old Market area. Take 5 mins to walk bars and restaurants. I also love that you dont have to worry about parking because they have a free lot at the apartment. What brings my review down is the management. They are rude and hardly gets back with you when you have questions or concerns. The management doesnt stay onsite anymore because a new better apartment open and they stay there now. Also when maintenance is scheduled to come half of the time they dont. Once they were suppose to take our window screens off to clean the windows and they took them off but didnt put them back on for a week. Also there is a 90 day notice if you dont want to renew your lease. Way to long.
Property Manager at 8 Street Apartments, Responded To This Review
Dear Resident, Thank you for the feedback. We love hearing from our residents - good, bad or otherwise. :) I'm sorry to hear that you had a tough time with the old Management Company but good news! Bluestone Property Management took over 8 Street in January of 2016 so we now owner/manage this property and things seem to run much smoother. Also, we have an entirely new maintenance staff since you left this review and they are very hardworking and responsive! Again, we always appreciate the feedback and please know that things have changed for the better. Thank you, Bluestone Management
the apartment is in a great location and has a parking lot, which is rare for downtown. The floor plan is very open, but the appliances are miniature. All dogs are allowed for a one-time fee and monthly fee of $25. The complex is owned by another company that has great amenities, including an awesome pool.
These apartments are perfect for one or two people. It is within walking distance of the old market making it easy to walk wherever you want to go. The apartment has secured access and allows animals. It has a huge closet which is great for anyone. It also has in-unit washer and dryers, making it convenient to do laundry whenever you want. It is a very quiet neighborhood with very friendly neighbors.
