5th Street Place

My experience has been wonderful. The initial tour of the apartment and complex was thorough, and the staff answered all of my questions. They were exceptional during the move-in process, being both flexible and professional.

Only been here for a month so far but I have nothing but positive things to say about living here. It’s very dog friendly, (yet clean and well-cared for), great location, excellent and clean shared areas like gym and recreational area, and lastly the people have been very nice, quiet, and friendly. Very happy with my choice moving to 5th Street Apartments.

The area is pretty safe and quiet. Maintenance is helpful sometimes. I've tried to get my sink fixed multiple times and it's still broken. Breezeways are also kind of dirty. My favorite aspect is how pet-friendly it is. There is a dog park/area that is always a joy to watch from my apartment.

love it so far. the community is very nice and I really like the amenities a lot. The clubhouse is very nice and is a nice area for hosting events.

Everything has been amazing here! I have no complaints. Couldn’t be happier! We love the amenities that come with the apartment! The pool is one of our favorites and love that the puppies get a chance to swim as well!

I’ve been living here going on three years, and I have to say that the entire office team has been amazing. Whether it’s Tim or Jason taking care of a maintenance request in a quick and timely manner, to Josh’s patience, and Amy’s amazing personality, it’s hard to not love it here. For my experience, noise has never been an issue, neighbors are nice, and the clubhouse is great. I love calling Fifth Street Place Apartments home

Great place to live! Just the right amount of activities, friendly neighbors, accommodating for pets. Close to UVA , shopping and major highways. A quiet, safe, neighborhood in a beautiful setting.

I’ve been living here for 13 months, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. The apartment community is well-maintained, with beautiful landscaping, plenty of green space. The staff is friendly, professional, and always quick to address any concerns. The amenities, like the fitness center, dog park, fenced in playground and salt water pool, are top-notch and well-kept. There is plenty of parking. Plus, the location is ultra convenient to I-64, with easy quick access to shopping at 5th Street Station and public transportation with a short walk to bus stop. The only thing I hope they add in the future is a designated package room where couriers can drop off packages 24/7 and residents can pick them up 24/7. Overall, it’s a great place to call home.

Very nice and comfortable apartments. Nice sized rooms, closets and balcony. Plenty of amenities including trash pick up five times a week. Very responsive staff. Some buildings have elevators. Others do not. Ample parking.

The Management Team was very patient and helpful, Answered all my questions…. It’s very peaceful and Beautiful out here that’s why I decided to come back.

BEAUTIFUL VIEWS! Amenitities are great especially with the newest addition of charcoal grills which my boyfriend and I use on a weekly basis now. The pool is rarely crowded and the gym is so close for low motivation days. I love the privacy but also the friendliness of neighbors if engaged. Close to everything!

Everything was wonderful! Best experience and and an easy move! We loved our welcome bag we got when we first entered the apartment. It was even personalized, they gave us cat treats for our two fur babies!

Just moved out due to a career change and I could not recommend living here to enough people! Staff is friendly and helpful, amenities are clean and the clubhouse was one of my favorite places to hangout!!

I moved here from another apartment complex in the Charlottesville area. This is so, so much nicer. The apartments are clean and don't smell like marijuana or cigarette smoke and the community is quiet. The leasing office is always happy to help when they can and maintenance gets things done so quickly!

I was new to Charlottesville and was looking for a modern and safe complex to live at while I got adjusted to the area. Fifth street Place did not disappoint! It’s off a main road but is a quiet and safe community. It feels secluded - which be a pro or con depending on what you’re looking for. Parking is ample. Josh and Amy were easy and pleasant to work with. Maintenance team and George were always timely and courteous! Grounds were always kept neat. Prices are higher than many complexes in the area but it’s worth checking out if it’s in your budget.

I am coming up on 4 years living in Fifth Street Place and it is the best apartment I have lived in so far. The amenities are great- I love the gym and the clubhouse. I wish it was more walkable to downtown and UVA, but the quality of the apartments and the people who keep Fifth Street Place running make the commute worth it! Special shoutout to Tim from maintenance!

As a resident of Fifth Street Place for almost 2 years, I could not have been happier. Amy and Josh in the leasing office were always accommodating, helpful and friendly. Maintenance team Levi and Tim were responsive and helpful to any issues. The community itself felt safe and clean. The organized events were fun! Neighbors were friendly; it really felt like a community there and have made life long friends/memories. I only left to buy a home; otherwise, I would have stayed as a renter there long-term. 10/10 would recommend this place if looking for a community oriented rental with nice accommodations.

Would prefer to go with the Pros first: 1. Community management is prompt with their duties and appreciate the recent developments regarding Parking permits and strictly making pets to be on leash. 2. Lawn and grounds are kept neat and clean mostly, but have noticed the stairs/breezeways to be dirty. 3. Ample parking space Cons: 1. Residents having to pay extra to use clubhouse to host lunch/dinner for friends/colleagues is something unfair; inspite of the high rent they pay here. This could be made applicable if the number of guests exceeds a certain number like more than 10 or 15. Management can easily confirm this as cameras are installed all over the clubhouse. 2. Sanitisers/wipes are empty in the gym/clubhouse most of the days 3. Rental rates hike are high; management can give discount to long-time-residents as they save on Apartment-cleaning, painting &maintenance before making it open to new residents. They can also consider to have an inspection of the apartment when the resident’s lease is about to expire and give them the new lease at lower rates if the resident has managed to keep the place neat and tidy. (Have read in reviews about 33% hike and new tenants being offered apartment for lesser rates than existing tenants) 4. Elevator breaks down frequently

Love living at Fifth Street. I’m enjoying all it has to offer, especially the kitchen. The location is excellent to everything and downtown is a short drive away.

This place is very close to i64 highway, 2 min distance from downtown and hospital. 2 min distance from grocery store, pharmacy and gas station. Also close to kids school. A perfect and secure place for loving with/without family. Checkout this first if anyone looking for a decent place to live.

Fifth Street Place management is rude and unprofessional, the complex has noise issues exceeding those that are to be expected in an apartment building, the building breezeways and staircases are usually very dirty, and residents are not notified about planned fire alarms and other events that are disruptive to those working from home.

Fifth Street Place is a nice place to live. The maintenance men work hard and are efficient in the work they do. The office staff are polite, and the office manager is very personable.

I love to live in 5th street apartment. Everything is smooth here. The management is supper efficient and treat each tent with respect and care. The place is safe and secure. It also very close to all essential elements like school, market, downtown, hospital, etc. I will encourage anyone who is looking for a decent place to live, check this out first before making any decision. I have lived at 5th Street Place for 3 yrs. Management is always very responsive to any issues. The property is well maintained and clean. Any maintenance issues are quickly addressed and resolved. Tim and Levi are great!

It is a great pleasure for me and my family to stay in this wonderful place. It is a quiet and nice housing society. It is run by wonderful minded management staff who always think about the well-being of tents. Management staff arrange various gathering parties in order to increase interaction among tents.

Very comfort and affordable living place which is very close to downtown.

Our family has been here for 2 years and we are happy with the office and maintenance staff. At times, maintenance work is completed the same day. Thanks to Tim and Levi for that. And Amy, our Community Manager is doing her best to keep the residents happy. Of course, small disturbances from noisy neighbors and pet-owners but that is expected of an Apartment building. Only downside is the rental rates increase every year

Fifth Street Place is one of the best apartment communities in Charlottesville and probably in the country (I have lived in many apartment complexes throughout my life to be able to say that). The apartment and appliances that come with it are like new, as Fifth Street Place has been built recently. The management office staff are very friendly and helpful. I moved to Charlottesville from out of state and had to drive overnight. Josh was very helpful during the move-in process. He touched base with me before my departure, and coordinated with me about where to securely hide the key so I could get the key to come in as I would arrive in the middle of the night. All maintenance requests were taken care of in a timely fashion. They also have social activities regularly for residents to know each other. Location is also great, very near grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping centers, 10 minutes away from the UVA hospital and many key places in downtown. Parking is plenty. The community is also very nice and quiet, with most residents being young working professionals. Oh and one more thing, there is included trash valet service 5 days/week. Highly recommend Fifth Street Place to everyone!

Fifth Street place is a great place to live. great community/neighbors. Clubhouse, pool and gym are top notch. I feel very safe living here and you can't beat the location for access to I64, Wegmans and downtown mall. Best part is that it is pet friendly.

I really love living here even though its only been a short while. As a younger resident, I was concerned about safety especially when going from my car to apartment at night. However, the parking lot is very well lit and makes me feel very safe. Everyone who lives here is extremely friendly and I love seeing dogs around!
