Amarillo welcomes residents with its distinctive Texas character and sweeping views of the Texas Panhandle. Home to over 200,000 residents, the city offers rental options from downtown lofts to suburban apartments with plenty of space. The San Jacinto neighborhood draws renters with its historic architecture and local shops. Rental costs remain moderate, with average rents around $841, and one-bedroom apartments averaging $830 monthly, representing a 1.5% year-over-year increase.
The Route 66 Historic District and Amarillo Cultural District anchor the city's arts scene, featuring performances at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts and exhibitions at the Amarillo Museum of Art. Just outside the city, Palo Duro Canyon State Park - the second-largest canyon system in the United States - offers miles of hiking and biking trails. The medical district, centered around the Harrington Regional Medical Center, serves the community's healthcare needs.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Manager at Legacy Ridge Apartments, Responded To This Review
As owners/managers of rental properties here in Amarillo for the past 24 years, we have always made it a priority to maintain our properties in such a way to continue to provide a nice place for residents to live, without a worry that we, as owners, will neglect the ongoing maintenance issues that arise. Neglecting any issue, especially plumbing, would not only pose a potential hazard to our tenants, but also devalue our property. We schedule monthly visits to each apartment for air filter changes and pest control, in addition to more frequent visits as maintenance issues arise. Our goal is to provide a clean, safe place for our tenants to live and to provide the best possible customer service.
