Located between Olympia and the Nisqually River delta, Lacey combines suburban comfort with natural surroundings. Home to Saint Martin's University, the city features extensive parks and natural areas, including the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. As an EPA-designated Green Power Community, Lacey sources 8.4% of its energy from renewable sources. Current rental trends show moderate stability, with average rents ranging from $1,500 for studios to $2,995 for four-bedroom homes, with most units seeing minimal year-over-year changes between -1% and 0.6%.
Originally named Woodland, Lacey has grown from a small settlement into an established suburban community while preserving its natural environment. Housing options span from newer apartment communities in Hawks Prairie to established neighborhoods near South Sound Center. The city center and the area surrounding Saint Martin's University showcase different aspects of local life.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Lakeview Apartments
We absolutely love living at Lakeview Village Apartments! The property is beautiful, peaceful, and full of charm with a warm, welcoming community vibe. LeeAnna, the manager, is truly a sweet soul. She genuinely cares about each resident and always goes above and beyond to make sure we feel at home. Richard, the maintenance man, is awesome! He's attentive, hard-working, and handles work orders quickly, even when his plate is full. One of the things we love most is the sound of children playing outside it brings so much joy and life to the community. But if you don't appreciate the amazing, happy sound of kids being kids, then honestly, this might not be the place for you. This is a wonderful, family-friendly environment, and we're so grateful our children get to grow up here. We couldn't ask for a better place to call home!
The property is beautiful and the lake access is super unique. Price is average when compared to other equal apartments in the area. The units are older so mold is always a risk but the management provides clear instructions on how to prevent it and what to do if it does build up. Management and maintenance are always prompt in responding to needs of the tenants. The current property manager really sets this place apart from other companies. She listens to concerns and strives to keep good tenants. Because of this the neighbors here are all pretty decent. No obnoxiously loud 3am parties on a tuesday or neighbors that constantly bully you. If there is ever an issue the manager has always done her best to amend the situation and resolve any issues so the tenants can move forward without concerns of continuing to have issues. Very animal friendly with lots of room to walk your dogs, I feel safe walking alone anytime of day or night on the property.
Rent too high, mold abundant, toxic algae, awful owners.
I feel very lucky to have found this complex. The grounds remind me of photos seen in tourist magazines. I walk to the lakeshore daily to appreciate the beauty so close and available with the dock, boat launch, and barbeque sites. I will never leave Lakeview Village. The management have become part of my family and I feel comfortable dropping in to talk at any time.
