Property Ratings at Lake Clearwater Apartments
Living at Lake Clearwater Apartments was the clear choice for me when moving to Indianapolis from out of state. I'd been told by my employer to find a place on the Northside, specifically Lake Clearwater Apts if available. I was fortunate and found a ground floor 2 bedroom unit with an attached garage, a real bonus to me. The interior was bright, open, and spacious, the cabinetry and trim work were outstanding, the bathrooms were large as were the closets. The exterior and grounds were beautifully landscaped and maintained to perfection. My particular building was totally quiet with no noisy or rude neighbors. As a single female moving from another state into a new city, I never once felt unsafe in my apartment or on the grounds of the property. I made only one maintenance request and it was handled on the same day.
When it comes to apartment living, you don't always think about the maintenance, but at LCW, their exemplary work ethic and readiness makes you appreciate that the maintenance team here is top notch! Have nothing but praises for their team and especially, Edgar, who so kindly bailed me out of an emergency during a holiday weekend! Thank you guys so much! Lake Clearwater is a great value for the money and I highly recommend living here. I've lived here since 2019 and have upgraded from the one-bedroom apartment to the two-bedroom apartment with attached garage. Pros: 1) Lake Clearwater's staff office and maintenance staff are all very friendly, highly responsive, and easy to do business with. 2) The apartments are well-maintained. I have very few maintenance problems with my apartment, and have had no serious problems (no bugs, no flooding, no mold, nothing broken). The amenities, landscaping, parking lot, and all shared areas are very well-maintained and kept looking nice. 3) The apartments are getting better all the time. While the buildings and infrastructure are not the newest, Lake Clearwater takes many steps to improve them. While I've been here, they've upgraded to a new color scheme in apartment interiors (paint and countertops) and exteriors (exterior siding and doors), upgraded to all-new GE appliances (ceramic-top stove, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher), renovated the leasing office, installed Amazon Hub for tenant packages, and installed energy-efficient LED lights and Nest thermostats throughout the complex. 4) The apartments include great features that are hard to find in other Indianapolis apartments, such as valet trash service, in-unit washers/dryers, garages, fireplaces, key-code entry, and fiber internet. Pets are allowed too. 5) The neighborhood is great. It’s safe and close to everything. It's a short drive (or even walk!) to restaurants, bars, grocery stores, retail, The Fashion Mall, nature areas, interstate and bus access. 6) Monthly apartment events are a nice bonus. They usually include free food and drinks, and are a nice opportunity to meet your neighbors and Lake Clearwater staff. Cons: 1) The walls and windows are somewhat thin. Noise and cold are occasionally issues. However, it's no worse than other places I've lived in within the Indianapolis area. I’ve been able to work comfortably from home since I arrived here in 2019, and am able to sleep fine at night. 2) The vinyl-wood floors and ceramic cooktop are beautiful, but they both require careful maintenance and cleaning to ensure they stay looking nice and don't get scratched. Not everyone may be willing or able to do so much upkeep. 3) The smoke alarms are very sensitive and sometimes go off during cooking, especially when using the oven. 4) The GPS on some phones has trouble navigating Lake Clearwater.

Lake Clearwater is an amazing place to live. The staff and maintenance are second to none. They do so much for upgrades on the property, respond to maintenance requests lightning fast, and are very nice, friendly people in general. The apartments are upgraded and have nice hardwood floors. I’m recommend these to anyone !

The sound insulation is too poor. I can hear voices upstairs every night. Maintenance can be faster, nothing more, my kitchen cannot cook. Has not been repaired. Parking will give you a headache. I don't know when the gym will end. Relatively safe, but everything else is fine!

As I sit here with my noise cancelling head phones in (an investment I had to make because of this place) I can still hear my upstairs neighbors every move. In part they are just incredibly inconsiderate, but also in part to the age of the building. Every step, every weak point in the wood, every TV, every cabinet closing... you WILL hear it. If you live here, you are either at the mercy of someone else’s noise, or you are making someone’s life hell. I’ve never lived in such a noisy place with thin walls. I am woken up by my neighbor every morning at 5:30- I can hear him walking around (can tell where in the apartment he is), using the bathroom, and even talking at normal volume. Unfortunately for him (and myself) I know his schedule to a tee. Parking sucks, especially if you’re near building 1. No area to walk your dogs if they need actual exercise. They came in and replaced the nice shower head with a cheap “energy efficient” 1 mode model. The loss of sleep is more than enough of a reason to stay away. I lived at Lakeshore Apts down the street for a few years, not sure why I downgraded for this place. This place left a flyer at everyone’s door to leave a review, i thought it was comical they mentioned “you can’t pick your neighbors” in said flyer, like they knew this was coming. Well, here’s your review. Taco and marg nights don’t mean much when you don’t feel at home here.

I’ve lived here for 2 years now and don’t see myself leaving anytime soon. The upkeep around the apartment is amazing. Maintenance is so fast too! Any ticket that’s submitted is fixed within a day. You can’t be the location either. Walking distance to bars and restaurants and right off of 465!

This community is the best one of the best around. We’ve lived in the same area before and in Carmel, but this place beats them all. The staff is amazing & super responsive to any type of requests. Our manager Rodge is especially awesome and plans monthly community events, that are actually really cool, like pool parties, tacos & margs, etc. Most of the residents are 25-35, so it’s a cool fun vibe, especially in the summer time. The location is awesome, with tons of restaurants, bars, and shopping within walking distance. The only negative I would say is that the apartments aren’t as upgraded as some others nearby, but are well-built, well-maintained, and have charming details, so all of that makes up for the lack of upgrades. Would recommend living here to anybody & everybody, you’ll love it! - Zenobia
Moved in July of 2018 after relocating to Indiana with my daughter. Management was extremely helpful and accommodating on short notice to find us the perfect space. Our apartment was exactly what we needed and perfectly situated for our commutes in opposite directions. The space was immaculate when we moved in and the grounds are well cared for in fair and foul weather. Maintenance truly cares and responds timely to any issue large or small, they’re also proactive with upgrades- which’s a fine quality. The community overall is very respectful and also fun, the pool is a key attraction. Very pleased with the amenities and office team, we give the space and the team 5 stars.
My husband and I moved into Lake Clearwater in August 2018 and could not be happier!! We weren't planning on getting a two bedroom until we did a tour and realized the deal we were getting! We LOVE the storage space, the extra large closet, and the vaulted ceiling. Aside from our apartment, the staff is truly amazing! Anytime we have a maintenance issue they're always very responsive and will get the problem fixed that same day. 10/10 recommend Lake Clearwater!

I have lived at Lake Clearwater for 9 months now, and I have been really happy with my decision. I was already familiar with the apartment complex since my boyfriend lived here for a year before we moved in together. His satisfaction with Lake Clearwater made it an obvious choice - well-constructed floor plans, reliable management, and great facilities such as the gym and pool. Whenever we have a maintenance concern, from changing lightbulbs to increasing the water temperature, the problem is always fixed the same day. I also appreciate the fun events the management hosts each month such as pizza nights and pool parties. I can honestly say Lake Clearwater Apartments are a great value, and you will not be disappointed!

I have lived in indy for about 6 years and this is the best place I have lived! After moving out in 2018 I got a new job in a different city, well my job ended up bringing me back to Indianapolis and I knew right away I was wanting to live at Lake Clearwater again. It is beautiful, quiet, and the staff is amazing. They made it so convenient for me to move back in the complex and I can honestly say it is a great clean community. The apartments are nice and some have good views of the water or woods. Love the fireplace but the appliances could be updated. There is an issue with hearing neighbors through the walls, but overall it’s a nice complex and the apartments have good square footage.

I have lived and looked at a number of different apartments. Lake Clearwater is by far the best! They are super responsive. The units and buildings are clean and they really take care of their residents. I personally haven't been to any events but they put them on all the time and are always offering new things. They are respectful and accommodating. As someone who really values safety, I am happy to report that I always feel safe here. Even with a first floor apartment. Great place to live!

I’ve lived at Lake Clearwater Apartments for four years and I have been extremely pleased with my decision to move here. The pet-friendly neighborhood is ideally located on the northeast side in close proximity to restaurant and shopping venues, with easy access to the highways. The property is managed by a professional and caring staff and beautifully maintained by a superior maintenance crew. The outdoor areas around the pool are clean, snow and leaf removal is swift, and the overall look of Lake Clearwater is excellent. The apartments have good square footage and storage with more traditional touches like crown moldings. The appliances could use some updating, but kitchen cabinets are plentiful and there is good counter space. My apartment is drafty in the winter, but insulated enough that I seldom hear my neighbors. Rents are somewhat on the high side, but the cost is offset by living in this safe, well run complex. I would recommend living here!

This is our third year at Lake Clearwater for a reason. We love the area, the secluded feel of the apartment complex, the pool, and the actual apartments. I think this is the best value you can get while still being in the 'Indy' zipcode, not to mention you could have every mall/shop/grocery/etc you could possibly need in this area. We have the smallest sq ft apartment and it is perfect for two people, with a fairly large bathroom and a decent sized kitchen for the square footage. Although you can hear footsteps/big dogs on the floor above, I was actually pleasantly surprised to find out that you really don't hear your neighbors otherwise. My favorite part is the huge covered porch that provides privacy even when facing the parking lot. We have always had extremely responsive and helpful maintenance when something has come up and the office communicates to the residents consistently and always have monthly events. The area is safe, well-kept, and pleasant to be around. I am really surprised by the low reviews and think that they are totally unwarranted (though I do agree appliances could be updated!) Overall, we have loved our time here and I have recommended this place to all my friends and even had some of our friends move in down the street!

Lake Clearwater Apartments are the best I’ve ever lived in. The staff is great! The complex is extremely nice and very clean, and I’ve had no issues with anything at all. It is pet friendly but you rarely have any issues with noise from pets. I would absolutely recommend this place.

I moved here in August and I am pleased with my experience. The team in the office especially Ashly is really nice and helpful. When I have experienced issues in my apartment the response is usually quick. I had issues with my dryer and with some leaking in my bathroom and with my microwave we fix two out of three the other seems to just have stopped. The apartment itself feels a little old, appliances definitely need an update but it’s okay not terrible. The on site gym is small but it’s efficient enough to get a really good work out in! If you like to get your work done outside of the house they have a office space in the clubhouse that is usually quiet and calm where you could bring your computer and work or use the computers provided. Deliveries can be tricky because all the doors have codes to get in so I have had issues with deliveries from time to time. The walls are a little thin so you will hear your neighbors. There is one trash can as far as I know and if you’re not close to it you kinda have to drive your trash to the trash can they have valet trash but they do not pick up Friday or Saturday and so you will probably end up having to take a drive with trash in your car. But I will say that it’s not a terrible apartment it’s an okay place to live! For the price I think it should be better but it’s an okay place to live and the location is great!

These are amazing apartment, extremely roomy and layout is wonderful. It definitely isn't like most apartment living spaces. The apartment complex does a lot of fun events which is makes it more like a neighborhood feeling.I have lived here for 2 years and love it. Also, the staff is wonderful and knowledgeable. The community is well maintained and the grounds are lovely, great for pets! Lastly the location is wonderful! Close by to fun restaurants, shopping, trails and etc.

We have been here a year and a half and I am so glad we moved in! The apartment are super chic with the hardwood looking floors and the vaulted ceilings in the living room. The staff is super helpful with whatever we need, even if it's just a change of a lightbulb. The pool is an awesome place to hang out in the summer and the fire pit is s great place to relax with friends. I would definitely reccomend this apartment to anyone who is looking!! Love lake Clearwater!

I've lived in Lake Clearwater for a few months and I'm loving it. My apartment is huge and has more storage than the house I used to live in. The unit I chose was being remodeled before I moved in and the property manager let me pick out the floor coverings! They also painted it before I even moved in. Service has been outstanding. They are responsive to any requests and will bend over backward for things like package delivery, etc. The community is well maintained and the grounds are lovely. They are established, so it's not just a bunch of ugly buildings and parking lots. It really feels like a neighborhood. The pond behind the community isn't your typical drainage ditch you see in other areas. It's next to the White River so I see tons of wildlife like herons, eagles, mergansers, and cormorants. Pretty cool to have that wildlife in the city-- and so close to Keystone!!!! I love it! Won't be leaving for a LONG time!
