Shopping

Most La Vista residents go to Papillion to the south or into Omaha for major shopping needs. Papillion offers a Super Target store on N. Washington St. and a Walmart Super Center at Market Pointe on S. 71 St. Plaza. Market Pointe is a shopping mall two miles from La Vista.

Restaurants

You will find a number of restaurants worth checking out inside the city limits. Most are clustered around the strip mall on S. 84th St. This is where you’ll find Chili’s Grill and Bar, for example. Lina’s Mexican Restaurant on Brentwood Dr. is a local favorite. Godfather’s Pizza, located on 84th is a Nebraska legacy. In nearby Ralston, you can get something spicy at Gusto Cuban Café or go to Maria’s Mexican Restaurant for the best tacos around.

Transportation

Transportation options vary in La Vista, but the best way to get around is by car. Interstate 80 borders the town on the west. The east route will take drivers to either W. Dodge Rd. or the 480 when commuting to Omaha. I-80 W. is a direct route to Lincoln, the state’s second largest city and the capital.

La Vista is a suburb of Omaha, so it is covered by that city’s bus service, OMetro. The 93 will pick riders up at park and ride lots located on 84th. St. and take them to the city’s Downtown Transit Center where they can transfer to another line to go into other areas of Omaha.
