The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Historic Lahr Apartments
I had to change my thinking about apartment living when I moved to the Lahr Apartments in downtown Lafayette, Ind., and now I won't go back. I have lived here 9 years. Some residents have never left. In other words, it's haunted. I wrote a column about my experiences, and those of other residents, when I worked for the Lafayette Journal & Courier. I did not know of the building's history when I moved in, and I don't really believe in ghosts. Some unusual things have happened, but all of them friendly. I'm a single mom and a big whimp, and I've not been too scared. The local Farmer's Market takes place right outside my door every Saturday from May to October. Several street festivals do, too. The Jazz and Blues Festival is my favorite. I can hear the music in the comfort of my apartment, or I can visit the crowds and stages right outside my door if I want company. The self-proclaimed oldest bar in Indiana, the Knickerbocker, is attached. There is music there every weekend. 501 Bistro, an upscale restaurant and bar, is too. The Sunrise Diner and Pete's 24-hour diner are just across the street. I never feel alone. Located on a quaint brick street that used to have trains running along it, The Lahr has connected with its deep history by putting up murals of these old train stop scenes. Every apartment is unique. Make sure you look at several before deciding on the right one for you.
