Property Ratings at Hilltop at Shavano
Pros: Nicey laid out unit. Cons: Roaches. The night before we moved into our unit, we decided to finalize our inventory checklist before moving in, we were greeted by three mature German Roaches. We're now moved in and it's Roaches in the dinning, kitchen, and restrooms. I pray tonight I don't see any in our bedrooms. I am really pissed off because I've never lived with pest before. Additional cons: The resident portal sucks not the best platform. No flexibility with optional fees. Everyone is required to pay $35 a month for trash to which they didn't even pick up my trash tonight. Covered parking is $55. At our last complex which we loved offered on covered parking, if you wanted Additional covered parking there was a fee of $25. Also, they charged $50 dollars for a gate clicker it was not disclosed to me that they'll only provide one gate opener per household. We have multiple cars. Our last complex offered two for that price. If you don't have clicker you can't access the gym. I haven't had the opportunity to use the gate clicker to see if it works because the gate has been broken. So far, I am not happy here. Just keep traveling up 1604 and find a real luxury apartment this place is bogus. Our last complex offered way more such as game room, basketball court, racketball, volleyball area. This places offers too little for the price. I hate that we left our complex for this place.

ROACH HOTEL! I am into my 3rd yr here and the roach problem has yet to be resolved. They are slow to respond and sometimes don’t respond at all to remedy this disgusting problem. I love my apartment and hate moving so I stayed, hoping things would change and they have gotten worse. Had to throw my Keurig away because it was infested and have found them in my dishwasher and refrigerator! I have woken up at night to them crawling on me in bed! The property manager told me that’s part of apartment living and I recently put in another request to have my apartment exterminated and almost 1 week later I have yet to hear from them. They don’t even answer their phones, unless I call from a different number. This is just one of MANY problems I have had dealing with management addressing my concerns. Needless to say, I will not be renewing my lease. Don’t let the facade fool you! A few of my neighbors have also had roach problems and a few have moved because of this issue. I have photos and videos to back up my complaints.

I just renewed for another year! I love the area and the view that I have looking towards downtown San Antonio. The office staff is friendly and also maintenance. The apartments inside look amazing, and I love my apartment!

The Hilltop at Shavano Ranch has been the smoothest and best overall apartment complex I have stayed at. Repairs are always done the next day if they haven't already been done that same day! Staff are very friendly and professional. My wife and I have enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend someone if they were looking for a great apartment complex.

We have lived here since June and already wanting to leave. Our neighbors above us constantly blarring music all hours of the night. We have made numerous complaints and nothing has ever been done. We had a front desk rep come out once after we called them, but nothing else gets done for them to stop blasting their music. When we moved in, a little piece of the carpet missing in a our bedroom, can clearly tell carpet was never removed from previous tenant, completely disgusting and made our first moving experience as newlyweds so far not memorable. The staff is responsive, but other then that, the fact that the carpet was never removed and replaced before we moved in is extremely unsanitary. We can't wait to leave.

Hilltop at Shavano has easy access to the 1604 and is within easy reach of grocery and shopping. The neighborhood feels safe. Communication with the front office is great and maintenance requests are completely quickly with professionalism and competence.

Not at all what the sales people say it it. Please allow two weeks before your move to look at your move in apartment. My move in was horrible. Dog poop everywhere and not picked up by maintenance. Management does not contact you back. I spend about 280.00 on electricity a month.

Do not waste your money. Looks and tours are great. What you get is completely different. Make you see your apartment before you have your belongings delivered to apartment.

Lousy maintenance and security. too many dogs. Big dog above me pounded around at all times of night. People with dogs should be limited to first floor apartments.Can't wait to et out of here.

Rent prices are very reasonable. Be prepared for a frustrating leasing process and even more frustrating waiting for anything to get fixed in your unit. I wouldn't recommend moving here.

Despite our a/c not properly cooling entire apartment the staff has been working diligently to try to solve the issue.

Great job by the maintenance staff!
Been here for 2 years very happy with the customer service at the leasing office and the maintenance people. Jennifer-Ashley- and the other young lady are super helpful. location is very nice. The trash is always been picked up from the front door. Honestly there is nothing bad to write here because i didn't see anything negative at this place. and i'll definitely renew my contract for the next year. Guys keep the great job up and thanks.
