The three neighborhoods that make up Avalon-Bellevue-Ben Avon are also known as the “tri borough communities.” Nestled along the Ohio River just north of Downtown Pittsburgh, Avalon, Ben Avon, and Bellevue encompass a relatively diverse suburban swath of southwestern Pennsylvania. The three neighborhoods of the community operate under separate municipalities despite sharing a zip code, but they each enjoy fantastic proximity to amazing amenities. A diverse mix of apartments both new and old and single-family homes in a variety of styles means there’s something for everyone here.
Memorial Highway meanders alongside the Ohio River and is a major thoroughfare for all three communities. Here you’ll find coffee shops, fast food restaurants, and more. California Avenue also houses breweries, bars, pharmacies, and Italian fare. Avalon and Bellevue share a school district, but residents of the tri borough community all have access to great schools.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Hillcrest Apartments
I have been at the Hillcrest Apartments for almost 10 months. Moved from WV to PA for a job opportunity and saw the ad for the hillcrest apartments and I went for it. My girlfriend and I comfortably live in a 1 bedroom. Very spacious bedroom/living room. Any issues that have arose have been taken care of very quickly. The parking lot is spacious, the tenants are extremely quiet and trustworthy, I get packages delivered and have always had someone bring them in, I have never had anything stolen. If you are looking for a casual place to comfortably live, close to highway, a good landlord, and humble tenants, I recommend the Hillcrest Apartments.
It is among the top places I've lived and the value is amazing. It is close to many important shops and stores and the highway if you need to go downtown or north. The amenities are more than enough and the laundry is only $1 each and they have on-site management. I love that each apartment has central air and heat and your gas bill is included in the rent! However my favorite thing about living here is how peaceful and quiet it is and knowing that I always have a parking space because the parking is assigned! Plus, it comes with a free storage unit. I love living here!
I love that there is only 6 apartments to each building, with controlled entrance. Every apartment building has coin operated washer and dryer which is convenient. My one very big complaint is that every apartment has 1 assigned spot, which is a little irritating due to the fact that the guest parking is very limited. It can be very difficult to find a place to park especially around the holidays. You can only get Comcast or dish, in the apartments you do not have to pay for water or gas. Apartment management is very responsive and takes care of issues fast, they also allow you to pay your rent online which is super convenient. My favorite part is that downtown Bellevue is right around the corner with public transportation to downtown Pittsburgh.
