Welcome to Athens, Georgia, home to the University of Georgia's historic campus. Current rental trends show moderate prices, with one-bedroom apartments averaging $1,173 per month and two-bedrooms at $1,378, both experiencing a slight decrease from last year. The rental market includes diverse housing options throughout established neighborhoods like Five Points and Normaltown. The walkable downtown district, which borders UGA's North Campus, features local boutiques and restaurants alongside venues that celebrate the city's rich musical heritage, including the 40 Watt Club and Georgia Theatre where R.E.M. and The B-52s first performed.
The State Botanical Garden of Georgia offers 313 acres of trails and themed gardens, while Memorial Park provides walking paths and a bear habitat. The city's history is preserved in its antebellum architecture and historic districts, particularly visible in the Greek Revival buildings downtown that earned Athens its "Classic City" nickname.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at High Ridge Apartments
Lovely, woodside setting. Peaceful and quiet neighborhood, filled with friendly people. Wonderful place to live.
Very expensive, Old, needs updates. The pool is great and maintenance staff are great.
Nice place to live I have lived here for over 12 years mostly quiet and peaceful people are nice.
I have been here almost 11 years and have never been dissatisfied with service. Wonderful people with whom to work!
My partner and I lived in a 2/1 some time ago and we only lasted 8 months in our year lease. We had a ground floor apartment underneath a heavy set tenant and her large dogs...and we heard everything she ever did. The ceiling was so loud we couldn’t even sleep. Basically loud creaking noises and lots of thumps. Appliance noise too. We could hear the dogs jump off the bed, showers running, literally everything and it was LOUD. Ironically, when she moved out, a thin gentleman moved in and the ceiling noise was still pretty bad. So if ceiling noise is a problem for you, make sure you don’t get a ground floor apartment.
Noise levels are unbearable here. Don't live on the bottom or middle floors or you will hear very loud footsteps above you. The only people happy here are the people who pay premium for the top floor which is not worth it given that you can get much nicer and quieter apartments at other complexes in Athens. Rent increased almost $200 at renewal which is absolutely not worth it for this janky place. Neighbors are not friendly and frequently have domestic violence incidents and scream and yell at each other and management does nothing about it.

Staff is excellent. Location, location! , location! I feel very safe here. One high plus is the doggies park and the very clean laundry facility.
I love living here - over 10 years - and don't want to go anywhere else. The staff is so helpful and professional - they go way above and beyond what is necessary The kindness and compassion go a long way for an old lady like me! I really appreciate them. And maintenance of the grounds is always beautiful
This is a wonderful community. The staff is courteous and professional, the apartments/grounds are updated and well kept, the neighbors are respectful, and its a very safe place to live. My family enjoys living here.
High Ridge is exactly what it is marketed as, a little community. I feel safe there and it's easy to get to know your neighbors. The office staff are super helpful and this is by far the best experience I've had with apartments in Athens.
High Ridge is a wonderful apartment complex for my little family! Its clean, safe, and has wonderful office staff. Weve been here over 2 years and have never had any problems. The maintenance staff are THE BEST.
Love the wood floors and spacious rooms. i love the woodsy feel of the surrounding forest. It is also great to relax after a workout in my own hottub! I feel like I'm living in a vacation resort!
Beautiful apartments in a safe part of town. Maintenance and office staff alike are very polite and accommodating.
I have been here for 10yrs.we love this place . Our apt.11 is like were family.we look out for each other.
I moved in at the end of May 2020 and living at High Ridge has been wonderful so far. The apartment is spacious and updated, my neighbors are all respectful, and the property is quiet & very well maintained. The amenities are also great: its convenient having on site laundry & my kids love the pool. Overall its a great place to live!
A pleasant enough place, but the rent is EXTREMELY HIGH and goes up every year. I haven't looked lately, but there are surely less pricey options out there.
The apartments are very nice and maintenance was very quick to respond and did a great job.
I am a year out of college and moved to Athens from Philadelphia at the end of May. High Ridge Apartments is a really beautiful apartment complex with hardwood floors, marble kitchen counter tops and a fireplace and I enjoy living here, especially since it is a comfortable and quite place for me to relax after work. High Ridge is only a 5 minute drive from just about everything in Athens. The only downsides to this place is that you can't have alcohol by the pool and it is mostly families that live here. I recommend this apartment complex for anyone who is moving here with a SO or a family, but if you are a single young person like me, you are much better off looking at some of the other places near the downtown area where the students are more likely to live. As far as rent goes. Rent is fair, the management team here is friendly and mostly helpful. I havent had any problems in the first 90 days of living here. No bugs and everything works like it should.
When we first moved in ,The Staff was very Friendly ,Knew the Property, amenities, and Several Renters on a first name basis..The only problem was scheduling Maintenance and pest control..as time progressed things improved as requested,The staff are on hands and show sinsere concern of My renting occupant experience.Today I am satisfied and enjoy My living space and consider it Home.
