Property Ratings at High Pointe
The whole situation was horrible. Our fridge didnt work correctly for MONTHS. i had to pay for pest control out of my picket than never got reimbursed like they legally have too. We were giving them checks to apply to our ledger which they never did so they ended up filing on us with a notice that we had actually gave them money for. They dont care about their residents at all, one of the leasing consultants who actually cared ended up leaving 6 WEEKS after she started.
Overall our experience here has been very good, the staff has always been friendly and accommodating to us. The property is well maintained and maintenance responds in a timely manner whenever there is an issue. Honestly the rent is not bad for what you are getting, we have a gorgeous view of the Legacy Golf Course and we have plenty of space to not feel crowded. The fitness room could be a little bigger but that is about my only complaint so far.

Overall it's been a pretty good experience! Maintenance is usually right on queue and will always notify you before anything happens. Haven't had any issues with the apartment itself. Front desk personal are nice and accommodating.

I'm on my 2nd year lease. Quite and safe, but somewhat dated. I rarely hear my neighbors, except for an occasional dog barking Great staff. No problems getting repairs completed. Easy commute to airport, downtown and Jordan Creek area. In unit washer and dryer is a plus. Electric bills have been reasonable ($25 - $50)

Great place to live, close to everything. Manger is awesome and maintenance very quick to fix anything. The kitchens are small, not a lot of space in the kitchen to cook and store food and cooking utensils but tons of storage throughout the rest of the appartment.

This place is nasty totally run down bugs everywhere when it rains it literally rains in your bedroom window are cheap the office lady has a bad attitude and clueless all they do is drive that stupid golf cart around acting like there doing work bunch of bull overall rating for this place is a big fat 0

My experience mirrors other unhappy renters at High Pointe. The apartment walls are paper thin which means you never have peace and quiet. The apartment was also poorly insulated with terrible windows. Our electric bill was astronomical in winter! Management either acted clueless or flippant regarding complaints and policies. Neighbors are trashy (literally and figuratively) and inconsiderate. High Pointe is not a good deal, they charge extra fees for everything including a key to the gym and pool, shorter lease term fees, and a water "Eco fee". Our lease is up and High Pointe had the nerve to offer us a "great deal"...by raising our rent. Needless to say we will not be renewing our lease.

Had to move out of the master bedroom into the other bedroom in the middle of winter because the windows did not close right and it was freezing. So much so that it snowed inside during the winter and rained inside other times of the year. We cleaned the carpets before we left, yet we were charged $120 for carpet cleaning. Said we left black marks and bleach spots on the carpet. I'm allergic to bleach and we never wore shoes in the hose so, no, that didn't happen. Assistant Apartment manager would not handle any complaints. Garbage bags and boxes stored on landing from neighbors were left for almost 3 months before being removed. Some were even left outside our apartment door on the landing. My husband's brand new car was keyed in their parking lot but they would not do anything about it. In addition to all of this, we complained about noisy neighbors for almost 5 months. Nothing was ever done about it. Even had to call the police about the noise, still nothing done.

Who ever heard of a four star location without a garbage disposal? IF tenants are having issues with knowing how to properly use garbage disposals, then they need to properly educate them with a handout before move in... it really is that simple. Other complexes with lower ratings in the area are managing that task just fine. Anything they expect the resident to maintain should have proper handouts discussing proper care. Most tenants want to see how the property they are going to live in has aged over time.... skip the model and see the real thing.
The suburb of Des Moines is a nice location for a good community but these apartments really aren't worth the rent. It all looked nice to move into, but once you are there for a while they are such a pain. I lived there for four years, when I viewed an apartment it looked very and was told I would get that apartment but when it was time to move in I got a rather run down apartment with many things broken: shower head, sink faucet, blinds bent and broken, stains in the carpet and it had clearly not been cleaned since there was still food from the last tennant in the fridge and cupboards. The pool was always run down and never able to use, the computers in the business center are like windows 1 OS and wont even turn on and the staff was atrocious. Matience was a dude who rode around on a golf cart and took two weeks to process a repair order and upon lease renewal they offered a special incentive to stay yet I never got my showerhead fixed. Overall I would NOT recomend moving into this place as it is all a front to live in a nice community. Save your money and keep looking folks.
Love Norwalk area and the apartments are a great value with all the amenties. Small town but close to Des Moines
We did a short term lease here at High Pointe Apartments from March to June of 2014. Initial meeting went well, and we weren't being very picky because we were just looking for a place to stay until our new house was completed. Cindy Christian was our primary point of contact before, during, and after our lease. The model apartment shown was fairly nice although dated. She told us the apartment we would have wasn't available yet but was the same as the model and backed to a grassy area. When we moved in, our grassy area was actually a bunch of river rock and air conditioning units. The carpet, fixtures, door knobs, blinds, virtually EVERYTHING in these apartments are as low quality as you can get. Walls are also extremely thin, we could hear our neighbors above us speaking in general conversation to the point where we could hear every word they were saying. So if you're looking for privacy, opt elsewhere. Once we moved out, we received a bill for damage to walls and carpet which was completely bogus. Overall pretty poor experience for over 1K per month. Do Not Recommend!
