Property Ratings at High House at Cary Apartments
I’ve had a very disappointing experience living in this apartment. There are multiple serious issues that management has failed to address: Roach Infestation: Roaches are everywhere, making it extremely uncomfortable and unhygienic to live here. Unclean Environment: The apartment was not properly cleaned when I moved in, and it continues to be poorly maintained. There are dust, grime, and debris in common areas that are rarely cleaned. Broken Cupboards: Many of the cupboards are broken or poorly installed, making them unsafe to use. Non-Functional Washing Machine: The washing machine has been broken for more than 10 days, and despite multiple requests, the maintenance department has not responded or fixed the issue. Poor Maintenance Response: Maintenance is incredibly slow to respond to critical issues. It’s unacceptable to be without a working washing machine for this long especially when you have school kids. Faulty Lighting: Several lights in the apartment are not working, which creates safety concerns at night. Again, no action has been taken despite repeated reports. Overall, the management’s lack of response and failure to address these issues makes living here extremely frustrating. I do not recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a clean, safe, and well-maintained living space.

I was moving across country from west coast to North Carolina and leased an apartment in High House at Cary, due to its proximity to shopping and good schools. The leasing office is not responsive and no one ever picks up the phone. This should have been a red flag. Upon my arrival, I found the apartment in a condition that can only be described as uninhabitable. Specifically: 1) There was a significant infestation of roaches and bugs throughout the apartment, including inside all kitchen cabinets and countertops. 2) Several kitchen cabinets were broken and not cleaned. 3) The bathtubs were not in good condition and clearly were not cleaned. There were nooks and crannies near the bathtub corners that were not sealed and roaches were crawling out of the cracks. 4) The flooring near the refrigerator door was peeled. I have documented these issues with photographs and videos, which clearly show the extent of the infestation and the poor condition of the apartment. These conditions make the apartment unfit for habitation, expected by any tenant. I did not move my luggage into the apartment and notified the manager and leasing office staff. The manager accepted that the unit was not livable and offered another supposedly renovated unit. The manager mentioned that the other unit was clean and had no issues and we could move the next day. He promised that if the new unit also had issues, he would refund the deposit and rent money. The next day, the new unit also had the same roach and bug infestation. Upon checking, there were roaches inside the refrigerator as well. Notified the leasing staff of the condition of this apartment and asked to speak to the manager, who apparently was no longer working at the property from the very next day. The leasing staff agreed that this new renovated unit was also not livable and agreed to raise an IT ticket for a lease cancellation and refund of the deposit and rent advance. I had to continuously follow-up on the same for the next few days and requested them to escalate the ticket to the regional manager. It has been almost a week and there is no resolution yet. All this while, my family had to go through mental trauma, with no place to call home and were depending upon hotels and friends for our stay.

I scheduled an appointment to view the apartments. We showed up, and they didn't. Later, I called and they won't answer. Completely ghosted us. They didn't respond to a phone call, email, text, or anything. You'd think that because I'm trying to pay for living there, they'd communicate. Nope. Absolute waste of my time.

been here for about 6mos and will not be renewing! So many bugs in this apartment and nothing is being done about the problem. Also, maintenance is the worst of any place I've ever lived, might as well not even have maintenance here. A maintenance person did come look at a problem but he must have just had a cigarette break the odor was overwhelming. Don't get me started on the pool here. this place is a 2 out of 10 at best.

I would not recommend High House Apartments to anyone who is looking for a reliable and professional apartment complex. I had a very bad experience with them and I ended up losing my administration fees that they refused to refund. I applied for an apartment in mid-July and I was told that the utility fees were included in the rate ($200 more than the rent price listed in the website). However, when I received the lease document, I found out that they were not. I tried to contact the leasing consultant, but she did not explain the discrepancy or offer any solution. Moreover, I needed to move in a few days earlier than the original date, and she told me that there was a unit available. However, the next day, she said that the unit was not ready and that she did not know when it would be. They also did not answer my questions about the nature of the problem or the possibility of moving into a temporary unit. I had no choice but to look for another place to live, as my job and my kid’s school were starting soon. I asked for a refund of my $300 fee, which was stated as refundable, but they denied my request. They said that I was canceling the agreement, even though they were the ones who failed to provide me with a suitable unit. I think that High House Apartments is a dishonest and unprofessional business. They do not care about their customers or their reputation. They only care about making money and taking advantage of people. I would advise anyone who is considering renting from them to stay away and find a better option.

Had worst experience with Hudson High. We moved from NJ and the apartment was only ready with paint and carpet. Kitchen was extdirty , blinds were broken , toilet were leaking , shower heads broken , windows were with mold , dishwasher was broken. Had very bad experience with manager when we went to visit. She asked us to leave if we can't stay.

My experience so far has been a nightmare. My apt had a numerous amount of bugs since moved in due to lack of maintenance in the apt.

This place is a cockroach colony - complete infestation. We stayed for 3 months and saw about 30 cockroaches, many of them during the daytime, which is a bad sign. I had one land on my head while sitting on my coach. We found another one dead in our bed one morning. We set out bait and they had Terminix spray, but it wasn't nearly enough. They need to do major work to get rid of the infestation. Our biggest frustration is that we ended up taking some roaches for a ride as we moved into our new house. Once we realized this during the move, we had to immediately unpack everything and ended up killing 6 roaches that day.

Hudson High House Management & Maintenance Personnel are eager to help when something should arise. Complex is centrally located with Davis Avenue School which has been rated excellent in the County. Walking distance to stores, restaurants, Bonn Park, etc. Sand so much more. The grounds are manicured weekly, the pool, tennis courts, media, fitness center, laundry, and play ground areas are well maintained. How nice to ride the grounds to see the flower beds so pretty which as you know takes alot of work. The Staff has certainly been busy to keep it all working. This Community has a diversity of Residents - seniors, young adults, young families a well blend that works.

We recently moved from New York to North Carolina. We booked the apartment online and when we came here it was same as described in the video shown on the website. It was clean and fresh. Kids liked the environment around Hudson High House. Community Management representatives received us very well and made us very comfortable. There were couple of minor issues, which were fixed by the management team very quickly. I have wonderful neighbors in my complex, very friendly and helpful and no disturbance at all. I would recommend Hudson house apartment to my friends. Maintenance staff is very friendly, helpful and very polite.

It is a very good community. I have been in this community for more than 7 years. It is peaceful . It has access to various grocery stores and very good schools. I just moved to this community as one of my friend who happened to be in this community for 8 to 10 years gave good feedback about all the facilities and response by the management . It is a good place to live.
We have been enjoying and very happy staying here and we love to continue staying here until we have our own house.
Hudson High House is a wonderful Community to live it.
I was really unhappy with the service when I first moved in. Since new management took over, I'm satisfied with the look & feel of the property & the timeliness & work done on maintenance work orders. The parcel service is a nice plus, too. Thank you.
Well first off, the Community is well maintained and all prior issues have been upgraded. All buildings have been given a fresh new coat of paint, all patios & breezeways have been powerwashed. The grounds are manicured and upgrades have been done. With the warm weather the pool area, grilles and surrounding areas have as well been given upgrades. Recently Parcel Pending has been implemented for ease of retrieving packages. Now keep in mind USPS, UPS, AMAZON etc will still deliver to door to door. This Community is safe and in the area of Davis School which has an excellent rating with the Board of Education. Centrally located to grocery shopping, restaurants, Library, Arts, Theatre, Shopping Malls and many more amenities. Great place to reside - come on down a d get a bird's eye view which you will not be disappointed.
