Right on the northeast corner of Madison and less than half an hour from downtown, Sun Prairie is an idyllic suburb with a unique personality all its own. Large recreation areas like Sheehan Park, North-East Greenspace, and Token Creek Preserve offer apartment residents lots of opportunities for outdoor fun. Sun Prairie is primarily residential, but it maintains a fairly robust downtown area along Main Street on the east side of the city.
The crime rate is well below the state and national averages, and parents will appreciate the abundance of high-performing schools all across town. Sun Prairie is very much in touch with its Midwestern agricultural roots—the Sweet Corn Festival is arguably the biggest event of the year, drawing upwards of 100,000 people from all across the region every summer.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Hickory Pointe
Staff are helpful and responsive. No issues after several years. Wonderful location. Quiet area. Only complaint is that there really isn't air conditioning - it is one unit. Hot in summer.
My husband and I have lived in our Goldleaf Development apartment (Hickory Point) for 3 years and have truly loved it. The apartments are nice and we have loved the loft layout and 1400 square feet of space. We love that we can barely ever hear our neighbors from inside our apartment and, we've asked, they can't really hear us either even when the TV seems loud to us or the washing machine, dryer, and dish washer are all running. The underground parking is fabulous, as is the storage unit down there to keep all the Christmas decorations, etc. from filling up our closet space. The staff here is wonderful - the maintenance guys are super helpful and very quick to help with anything you need. When my baby girl was born we wanted to add a smoke detector to her room for safety - there were ones in kitchen and one upstairs already. They came in the day after I requested and put it in. That's just one example, and we don't have to call them that often, but when we do, they are timely, efficient and very helpful. The people in the office are great too and they throw little resident appreciation events pretty much every month. We won an iPad Mini at one. It's a safe apartment complex (front door locks with buzzed entranced) that is close to Walmart, Target, Costco, Copps, Woodman's, and Aldi. It's just off 151, so it is easy to head into Madison, East to Milwaukee, South toward Janesville, or North towards the Dells, but you can't hear the highway noise at all from the apartment. We have enjoyed living here for three years and highly recommend it.
This is the apartment for you if you want the best maintenance staff. Great landscaping, lots of trees and grass. Private patio for furniture and plants. They had a appreciation day in August with lunch & dessert and a chili & dessert lunch in Sept. with 2 gift baskets giveaway. A $100 price every month for a rental renewal. Walking distance to a super Walmart and restaurants.
I just moved in to my apartment and so far so good. The ladies in the office have been really helpful. The neighborhood is quite and convenient to all many shops. Only time will tell, but so far I am having a pleasant experience. This location is a great location for work, as I only have a 10 minute drive.
We've heard there is a less-than-great neighborhood nearby, but that this immediate area is a nice place to live, and it seems that way in our visits. After getting a tour, we signed a lease but have not yet moved in.
