The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Heights by Marston Lake
This place definitely loses its initial charm quickly. Most of the appliances have been HOT GLUED and holes or gaps have been caulked over for repairs. Leaks from the pipes continue to worsen, and the heat does not work consistently. The screens for the windows and sliding glass door(along with its lock) have been broken since we moved in and although we've asked them to repair them numerous times we have been told to just prop up a bar to keep the door locked. The outside area is very nice looking and well kept which is a plus. Although parking used to be a problem it's much improved over the last year. The new maintenence men are awesome and we appreciate them the most out of all of the staff. Oh, hope you don't own a car that you ever need to do any form of maintenance on! You are not allowed to work on your car, or even have your car towed into the parking lot. If your car doesn't run they'll make you get rid of it even if you're disabled. The walls are so thin you could have a conversation with your neighbor if you wanted to and complaints about noise after 9pm are simply ignored unless you're a crotchety old person. I am not writing this to make this place or any staff look bad, I am writing this as the warning I wish I had before I moved in.
My family and I have lived here 13 years,The staff is wonderful, the grounds are well maintained. The apartments are comfortable, and the living space is well laid out.Friendly neighbors, pet friendly,a great environment to raise children. A small town community feel, and when anything is needed the staff and maintenance are prompt and friendly and meeting the needs of the residents. I plan to live here a long time. 11/18/2017
I have been here 9 years and I really enjoy living here. As any place, you are going to have good and bad. I really like the management. They have always addressed my problems and let me know it would be fixed quickly. The people in the office are really good people. So if you decide to come here, I hope you can enjoy it as much as I I DO.
We are going on 3 years here and I must say... I have only 2 complaints. Like one of the previous reviewers stated, no parking. You come home too late and you are parking somewhere, but it won't be close to your building. We've had to park a good distance away from our building numerous times. The other is mail / parcel. When we moved in, we were told UPS / Fedex etc. leaves packages at the office, unfortunately, that is not true. We've had 2 packages stolen from our patio (both UPS and thankfully inexpensive). We've had letters end up in other unit's mailboxes, packages say they were delivered and state "Left on patio", there is no package on the patio, come to find out, it was on another unit's patio. This is not the fault of the apartment though, so cannot really complain too much. However I stopped shipping packages here, I have them delivered to work just in case. The managers are always nice and friendly, but the maintenance is stellar. Really, they come, they do the work, they are friendly, courteous, never gripe or complain about anything. Really good people. When we first moved in, the dishwasher was not cleaning properly and had a strange smell to it, called, it was replaced the next day. No questions, no messing around, no trying to rig it up to "work". They do great work maintaining walkways etc. when it snows, the grounds and areas are kept pretty clean, I see maintenance guys regularly cleaning and picking up litter. As for the units themselves (at least our unit - I cannot speak for all of them) is great. The carpets are a bit... cheapish feeling, but it is an apartment so no negative points there. It is a bit noisy, but we are near the road and the manager showing the unit before we signed the lease let us know up front before we even saw it, so points for that. The location is awesome, Walmart, Target, numerous home improvement type stores, pet stores, restaurants a mall etc. all within minutes. The schools in the area have been great, West Gate Elementary and Bear Creek Middle School have been great. The teachers have all been amazing so far, kids love the schools and the programs they offer. Really just a awesome complex in a great area.
I have lived here for past two and a half years and have never had a problem except for not always enough parking. I have had the water heater, oven element, one burner, microwave, air conditioner, toilet and dryer go out but ALL have been repaired within hours of my calling the office. The maintenance crew is amazing! They have complete knowledge of every appliance in these units and are very friendly to the occupants here. Thanks to all of you. I also rented here 20 yrs ago w/same experience. Great location - near major roads, restaurants, churches & malls.
