I’ve been extremely happy with my stay at Haven Del Mar. I had a slight problem and Angelina was awesome. Attentive. Helpful. Patient. She always had a smile and a waive. I was impressed. Also, when needed something fixed, Julian fixed it the same day. I used to tell Julian how I didn’t understand how 1 guy can fix almost everything. Julian is a very nice guy. Ok, my text finger is getting tired. I’ll miss this place when I move out next week.

Great place to live near Old Pasadena. The location is convenient, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and cafes within walking distance. The building is well kept, the apartments are comfortable, and the neighborhood feels safe. Overall, it’s a great spot if you want to be close to everything in Old Pas.

Not a bad place to live if you don’t mind a little noise. The units and common areas are maintained decently well and it’s nice having access to some of the amenities. However, the building does sit right on top of the metro station and is directly across from Central Park and the fire station. That being said, there’s near constant noise between the metro itself, the emergency vehicles, and people shouting. Additionally, package theft is unfortunately common as many of the delivery drivers do not understand how to use the Amazon locker on-site and will instead leave your packages in the lobby in plain sight.

This property has an antiquated AT&T infrastructure that took my At&t person 3 1/2 hours to get up in running in my unit. Once installed the 50 Mps promised by At&t was more in the 10 to 15 Mps range, which goes down frequently. This has caused issues with my work VPN, and apps like Team and Zoom, just don't work sometimes. There are no other options, so we are stuck with these serious work interruptions - or renting an office space, which is unacceptable. In addition, the area has two homeless shelters and a lot of transients due to the Metro, so it is one of the least safe areas in Pasadena, unfortunately. To compound that issue, the security for the building is well below reasonable standards, especially as the building is on Metro stop attached to a public parking garage. The staff is great, building is clean, but the network and safety issues would have steered us to another building if we had been aware of these problems ahead of time.
I've been living with Avalon for years. Apartments is good quality, nice and clean. Maintenance and leasing and leasing office are nice. The location is convenient. Everything seems to be very good at the first point. After you really live in this property, you start to realize not everything that they told you during the sales pitch is true. Do not listen to the leasing office that the train online runs till midnight, they are 24x7. The noise is large enough to go throw the window. There are break-in and burglary happening everyday in this property. Do not expect this is a save community. I had a break in once, and plenty times of some random guy try to open my door or take away my stuff at my apartment door, mail box got crack opened, someone tried to knife a neighbor in the garage. Everything you can imaging, it can happen here. The police station down stairs is only a substation, they don't deal with anything here. There is basically no security camera in the property, you can see only one in the hallway at the first floor. But it does not work, at least during the past two years, it did not work. So be aware of what you are going to face here.
The apartment itself is spacious and nice. The ground floor is not good though because too many people are walking by for the metro, so opening your blinds is unocomfortable. The amenities are good in the complex with a small but well equipped gym and a nice pool that is long enough for decent laps. The leasing office people are nice and very helpful.
Studio apartment descent, but not reasonable on price for 3 people.
Good standard apartment. Smaller appliances in the kitchen, but still ample amounts of space elsewhere in the apartment. Staff is attentive and will try and help however they can. Pool/gym area is always kept clean. Mostly quiet apartment building with a short walk to all the great places to eat and drink in Pasadena. Right next to the train station, which surprisingly doesn't effect your noise volume, unless you open your windows. Overall we were happy here, but had to leave when the rent was raised too highly for us to stomach.
