An absolute dream, it’s everything I was hoping it would be. Special thanks to Sydney, Tiana, Lateefah and the maintenance team who has made living here so comfortable and exceeded my expectations moving to Oakland.

Hanover never disappoints. Best apartment in the area, I’ve been in Oakland for 8 years and have not found a better place , no place has better management and community. The team is awesome and always answers our questions / helpful with a positive attitude! The amenities are great and we also got a discount because we locked in our lease early (around March / April) before the summer rush! Can’t say enough positive things!

I moved in a few months ago and the entire process was made so easy by the management team. I talked to a few team members throughout the process and they were all super helpful and informative.

Khadijah is so friendly and welcoming! She took the time to show us all the available units and was patient as we asked tons of questions.

Everyone is so nice and welcoming in the building. Right off the bat you can certainly feel a sense of community. I’ve truly enjoyed my time here.

Northgate is accessible to BART, trendy restaurants, and a close drive to downtown SF. I cannot recommend the location enough.

The amenities are top notch and well maintained. I love that I can spend time outside my apartment without needing to leave the building.

I recently moved from a single family house and it is such a wonderful change! I am close to Whole Foods, Lumpia Company, bars, restaurants, BART, Starbucks, and so much more. Target is also a block away so that’s a plus! I love having the amenities here as well.

I have met amazing neighbors since moving in and love the amenity spaces the building offers.

I love that the apartment is right in the mix of restaurants, grocery stores, cafes, and Lake Merritt. It is a great feeling to not have to drive or worry about parking, because everything is within a few blocks. From the start of the process working with the team, they were very knowledgeable, honest, and upfront about all fees. Overall it was a great experience. I can't recommend this building enough.

As someone who loves to cook and bake, finding the most spacious kitchen and island was super important to me and I am so happy to have found that.

The quiet building is central to all of Oakland’s staples. Lumpia Company is right around the corner and Limon is right under the building.

The gym has all the equipment I could ever need. The outdoor pool table is my favorite.

I recently had the misfortune of living in the Hanover Northgate, and I must say it was an utterly miserable experience from start to finish. This review serves as a warning to anyone considering renting from this establishment, as they consistently demonstrate an appalling lack of care for their tenants and a complete disregard for basic principles of customer service. First and foremost, the maintenance team is shockingly unresponsive. I encountered numerous issues with my apartment during my tenure, ranging from stove to garbage disposal. Despite submitting maintenance requests promptly, it would take weeks for them to address even the most pressing concerns, if they bothered to address them at all. It became abundantly clear that they only prioritize attracting new residents, leaving existing tenants to suffer the consequences of their negligence. The leasing team at Hanover Northgate exhibited an attitude that can only be described as abhorrent. During the leasing process, they were friendly and accommodating, promising exceptional customer service. However, once I signed the lease and moved in, their true colors emerged. They displayed an utter lack of empathy and treated tenants with an unacceptable level of disrespect. It was abundantly clear that their sole focus was on filling vacancies and maximizing their profits, without any regard for the well-being and satisfaction of their residents. One of the most infuriating incidents occurred when I lost a crucial package and reached out to the leasing office for assistance. They assured me that they would inform me immediately upon its delivery by UPS. However, their promise turned out to be empty words, as I never received a single notification from them. Their indifference and failure to follow through on such a simple task further exemplify their lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. In conclusion, I strongly advise against renting from Hanover Northgate. The abysmal maintenance response, the deplorable attitude displayed by the leasing team, and their failure to fulfill even the simplest of obligations have made my stay a living nightmare. Save yourself the stress, frustration, and financial exploitation by seeking a more respectable and tenant-focused housing option elsewhere. This apartment complex's complete disregard for tenant satisfaction should serve as a cautionary tale for anyone considering making the mistake of becoming their next victim.

The management team hosts many resident events, pop-ups, and raffles which is super exciting and creates friendly competition between the residents. Everyone I’ve met is so friendly and kind.

The building is tucked into a side street in the heart of Oakland. It is easily accessible to BART, Lake Merritt, and a ton of yummy restaurants. The location is everything!

The office staff is welcoming (shout out to Dija ????), maintenance is responsive, and the overall community is welcoming, respectful and kind. Of all the buildings I’ve checked out in Oakland, Northgate continues to be the place I want to call home—especially as someone who works from home. If you’re looking for a quality spot, with great neighbors and Target/Wholefoods nearby: this is the place for you.

This apartment is great. It is a perfect location and is quiet at night. The amenities are amazing and the staff is vert helpful and friendly. The events are also great. 10/10!
