I just moved here recently with my twin sister, and it is SO much more homey and relaxing than our last apartment. The amenities are fantastic and totally new and refreshed, the staff are all wonderful people, and we absolutely adore the apartment. This place feels so secluded, which is perfect to feel like you’re getting away from all the craziness of daily life. Move here!!!

Pros: the apartments are a great size and spacious, location is very quiet for the most part and yet still close to lots of stores, restaurants, and activities. Maintenance is usually responsive and efficient. Cons: You can hear everyone around you. Might as well put a piece of paper between you and your neighbor and that goes for people next to you and under, not just above you. Seriously, who designed this building? If you rent here, buy earplugs to sleep so you don’t hear constant door slamming and banging around you, or heavy footsteps above you. Additionally, they have a space heater that increases your electricity bill in the winter. Mine went up even after I stressed to them to put it on the lowest setting possible. It’s such a stupid little way to throw money away for 3 or 4 months that isn’t worth it at all. And due to no insulation, your gas bill might also increase due to an awful draft in the winter, pending on which unit or floor you’re in. My windows have terrible drafts but that could also just be lofts in general. They don’t cover any utility like other places would, and you pay $10 for unreserved, uncovered parking. Most places have 1 reserved spot included in rent, covered or not! So you are paying a lot on top of your base rent. It’s great they are pet friendly, but they literally has no control over the dogs they allow to live here. Some are extremely aggressive and a lot of them bark nonstop in their units. They think a simple email will solve all the problems, but it doesn’t. There is no security and the parking lot is not gated, and there have been car break-ins (which I guess can still happen and it can happen anywhere, but it would be nice to have some security). I have no idea where all the negative reviews are because Ive seen a lot of disgruntled neighbors. It could be nicer if they at least did something about the dogs, and if possible, put insulation of some sort in these walls. There’s honestly better deals out there, and I’m hoping to get out at the end of my lease.
If you want your cars broken into or stolen, this is the place for you. If you want to deal with major noise issues, this is the place for you. If you want to deal with aggressive animals every time you walk outside, this is the place for you. If you want to deal with management who ignores major issues, this place is for you. If you want to live in a place that is cared for, where residents are looked after, and management doesn't just look out for its bottom line, STEER CLEAR.
I love living at Avalon East Norwalk . What I love the most is that the units are newer, the location is in an awesome area; close to the beach, shopping, easy access to I-95 and CT-15. The complex is quiet, clean and the staff is the best, they are professional and responsive to tenants. I love the fact that the people are of all ages and that everyone is very respectful of each other. After living in a house for the majority of my life, it was a hard decision moving to an apartment, but it is one I don't regret at Avalon East Norwalk.
This apartment complex is fantastic. It is always clean and very welcoming. We have full access to grilling, the pool area, gym, etc. I am very happy with where I live. I feel it is worth every penny. They have contests, such as "Cutest Apartment". Also, there are community activities that make everyone feel connected; BBQ and Ice Cream truck.
Our children decided that it was time for my husband and I to downsize from our home to and apartment. We were both in our 70's and they wanted us to have a more comfortable life style. I was very reluctant since my home was warm and inviting and we built many wonderful memories there. Our grandchildren loved coming to Grandma and Poppie's house. We had a deck and patio with all my favorite flowers and they would have to drag me out of my house kicking and screaming. I found out that I needed spine surgery and realized that I wouldn't be able to handle the steps in my house. My husband was also tired of mowing, landscaping, painting, etc. The time had come. We sold the house in less than an hour and immediately went into panic mode. We needed a place to live. My husband went to Apartments.com and found a new Avalon Community under construction. It was only a few miles from where we presently lived. The area boasted top restaurants, stores and points of interest. We had to move in with my daughter for 6 weeks since our apartment woudn't be ready before we had to move from our house. The apartment finally became available and we moved in 2 weeks before my spine sugery. We had to get rid of a lot of our furniture and "stuff" but life is a tradeoff. We were trading off for a new lifestyle. After the operation we marvelled at the conveniences provided by Avalon. Our building had a handicap ramp and we then went right to an elevator to our apartment. All of my rooms were on one level (except for the loft) and this made life so easy for me post op. Our building also has a swimming pool, barbeque pits, fitness center and community room. The grounds are beautiful and I am still able to have my favorite flowers on my terrace. The maintence team takes care of all our need and we don't have to lift a finger. We signed a second lease and intend to continue to do so unless the rent becomes prohibitive. We are senior citizens on a fixed income and hope that we can afford to continue to live here. We are so happy to have found this apartment so THANK YOU Apartments.com
