As the name of the town suggests, East Hartford borders Hartford’s east side, directly across the Connecticut River. Primarily a residential community with a large population of commuters, East Hartford rentals have a lot to offer beyond just a quiet home life. Rentschler Field at the center of town regularly hosts large sporting events (as the home field for the UConn Huskies football team in particular) and concerts. Several large parks and a scenic riverfront provide ample playgrounds for residents to enjoy the outdoors. With Hartford being so close, residents of East Hartford can easily access the cultural resources of the larger city, including the XL Center, Hartford Stage, and XFINITY Theatre.

Property Ratings at Gateway Estates
This place is very unsafe! Cars are being broken into every other day and no one seems to care! It’s been happening for the past year and no actions taken from management, as if they are non existent! The basketball court is filled with people that don’t live in the complex ALL THE TIME! Which, makes it harder to use it as a resistant or have our kids play there, as there is never space for ACTUAL residents. It is hard parking spots because, there are no assigned parking! This place is a nightmare, I feel like I’m living in a very bad neighborhood and I’ll be attacked at any minute. Or my car will be broken into, where I will have to spend my hard earned money to fix it. If you are looking to live unsafe on the streets, then this place is for you! Otherwise stay away it is disturbing in every way!

One month after I moved in I started seeing rodents and roaches, then leakages from almost all the ceilings in my room. Finally the bathroom ceiling broke into the bathroom. Very unsafe.
