As Wisconsin’s capital and second largest city, Madison is situated in the heart if America’s Dairyland. Aside from the city’s farming history, Madison is also known for its lakeside recreation and relaxation on Lake Mendota, Lake Monona, and Lake Waubesa. Interstates 90 and 94 make commuting as easy as possible in the area, even to major metropolises like Milwaukee, located roughly 80 miles east of town on Lake Michigan.
Home to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison draws in many residents for its college sports and top-notch educational opportunities. Between the Badgers basketball and hockey games at the Kohl Center to the Badgers football Games at Camp Randall Coliseum, there’s always a college game to cheer for. The university features all kinds of entertainment options, including the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum, a major natural attraction in the city.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Freedom Park
I've never had the struggles I have with Colonial Property Management/Skyview Apartments. Generally when I need to contact them with an issue they're response is "I'm not sure what else we can do," leaving me to suggest several reasonable ways they could address my issues. The first several months were much better service but lately there have been many issues. When I first moved in, my apartment had been vacant for a month so they could make repairs and replace flooring but somehow I inherited a nasty fruit fly issue. Eventually I figured out it was due to unmaintained drains and plumbing, they cleaned and unclogged each and the fruit flies ceased. When I requested a second key to my apartment so I could leave with my petsitter, it took 3 tries to get it right. When I had a loaner car, even though I contacted them, it was towed in the middle of the night so I woke up to no car, and a $200 bill to pick up my dealerships loaner in Sun Prairie. They weren't receptive or helpful but instead blamed the tow company and accused them of lying to me about their policies. Things are often broken, repairs are always done with cheaper replacement materials and often sloppily. They've dripped paint on my furniture and belongings during maintenance several times. Pet policies are inconsistent. I have several packages stolen from the apartment building (as have neighbors) to the point that most carriers wont leave packages here anymore. They won't do anything about the issue like offering later office hours, a package delivery locker, or security camera on site. It's 2019 and you must pay a fee each month to pay your rent online. Laundry machines operate on cards that must be loaded with cash at another site but the limit is too low so it is quite inconvenient. There is little care for the property yet many rules not written in your lease and very little human-based service. The office hours are terrible and often noone is there to answer your calls or drop in questions even during those hours. Wish I could say better but as much as I've tried to work with them, they don't seem to be interested in making renting from Colonial a pleasant experience.
