If you haven’t been to South Laurel yet, imagine a hilly, wooded community with attractive houses and peaceful roads. Together with its manicured lawns and shady sidewalks, you might think this is a suburban neighborhood. Well, sort of – it is, after all, only 18 miles from DC -- but there’s much more to South Laurel. For one, the Patuxent Research Refuge is its backyard.
The vast Patuxent Research Refuge covers nearly 13,000 acres of land. It was established in 1936 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to support wildlife research – the only one established for such a purpose. The refuge is ideal for birdwatching, hiking, and fishing. For those who prefer shopping to hiking, Baltimore Avenue is home to Towne Centre at Laurel, a large shopping plaza with a movie theater and several restaurants. Head into Downtown Laurel to visit the shops and restaurants along Main Street.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Foxfire Apartments
The property consists of old apartment units. The floor creaks, mice as your roommate, smelling cigarette smoke from neighbors, etc. These are hidden, while management gloss over by beautiful landscaping, pool and amazon lockers. They charge you for water, sewage, trash, so your rent us never the same amount each month. I believe that there are better more up to date properties that are available in the area for lower price or the same price as Foxfire. Also seek out properties that are flexible with paying for utilities..

I have lived in foxfire apartments for about 5 years and the staff is amazing. Always willing to give an extra hand in order to resolve apartment issues. Maintenance always do their job and always fix my problems in a timely manner. The laundry service is free and it’s amazing to have. The property is always clean. I love living there it’s a experience I will never forget and if your looking for an apartment foxfire is the place to come live in.
I have never dealt with a place this bad. Management is horrible. If you need anything in your apartment fixed good luck. If I could give it no stars I would. The only good part about this place is the guy on the go-cart that makes sure theres no trash in the parking lot and salts the sidewalks. Other then that everything about this place is bad. They overcharge for what you're getting. The walls are all cracking and are split over a foot long. This place has major foundation issues. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you're thinking about moving here, do yourself a favor and DON'T!
These buildings are extremely old and out of date except for superficial updates. The plumbing and walls are old and frequently have issues. Maintenance seems to make the cheapest repairs possible even when there is a larger issue. Noise is a problem here and there is not much privacy as a result. Also, you would think with an all night security, that this is a safe complex, but somehow they're nowhere to be found during the recent shooting and other crimes within the complex.
This is my first time living on my own and I'd say that Foxfire Apartments made my experience one to remember. I moved into Foxfire Apartments on Sept. 1, 2015 so I'm currently in my second year here. The space in the apartment is great, and everything is newly renovated. I love my stainless steel appliances. As far as the facility goes it's absolutely amazing. The neighborhood is quiet and clean. If ever there is an issue I contact the leasing office and they are sure to resolve the issue immediately. EVERYONE in the leasing office is a pleasure to work with. A HUGEEEEE shout out to Rachel V., she is the young lady who helped me when I walked in the door eagar to see the place. Surprisingly she remembered me when I bumped into her off of the property and to this day and every time I see her or contacts the front desk she remembers me by name and is always a pleasure. Hands down if your looking for a good place to live in Laurel, Foxfire Apartments is it!
The management at Foxfire Apartments is good and willing to meet and confirm residents requests and questions. The grounds are always kept up and maintenance people are helpful as well.
The management is pretty good and very friendly. Maintenance usually completes all work orders in a timely manner. The outside could use better aesthetics but this is overall a good place to live.
This is a perfect apartment if you don't want to really find a place in DC because I know those can be a bit much. This I found very reasonable for the price it is. Its not too far from the City and some of the biggest shopping areas in the region. Friendly staff and residents. Always have great events going on to get to get everyone together to get to know one another. I would highly reccomond this apartment to anyone out of state or in state. Its a great place to live! Great first apartment if you're looking for that!!
