Hagerstown, MD, is the county seat of Washington County in the western region of the state and Maryland's 18th largest city. Covering an area of 12.91 square miles, the community has a population of 40,638 residents. The city is in close proximity to Frederick, Mount Airy and Westminster, MD. The state of Maryland was one of the country's original colonies, and settlers who arrived in 1736 in western Maryland, then considered a wilderness, were offered land at a very small cost as an enticement to persuade these newcomers to settle in this attractive region
The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, located in Hagerstown's historic City Park, has been praised for being one of the leading small museums in the country. It offers a surprisingly broad variety of fine arts exhibitions for viewers of all ages, housing over 7,000 works of art representing worldwide artists and cultures. The Maryland Theatre is a central feature of the Arts and Entertainment district of the city.

Property Ratings at Fountainview Apartments & Townhomes
This place was so nice when we moved in but now it’s just all going down hill….. rent gose up every year and the building just gets worse and worse…. Nothing gets fixed, cars get broken into in the parking lot…. 3 times this year. Oh but it’s all good they had the parking lot paved so the the people can be nice and Comfortable when they lay up under our cars to cut stuff out of them….. what a joke highly recommend living anywhere else other then this place
I am living there almost 2 years. Apartments are spacious, clean, no bug issues with a great price. Joyce was always helpful for me, since from beginning. I can easily reach her, she return back to my mail, if there is a problem she tries to solve it. Maintenance guy is doing his job well, I didn't wait long when I have a problem in my apartment and he fixed. As a single mother I am living there with the feeling of security. There is only one negative side for me that apartments has no good isolation. You can hear people`s sounds. If you care this issue a lot, try to rent one of the 3rd floors.
The apartments are in good shape,/ Some of the people that live here aren't that great though. People with dogs don't pick up after them. The dogs will also bark ferociously at the smallest sound you make. Sorry that I set your untrained dog into a frenzy just by walking up the stairs. You can hear everyone's conversation that they have outside the building (especially when they're talking about you...they LOVE to gossip!) There's also these kids that live in the area that like to walk through the property and cause trouble. At first we thought this was a welcoming area, and it is, as long as you don't get in anyone's way or do any of the little things that they don't like. Parking seems to be a problem. There's plenty of parking but everyone fights for the spots up front because there isn't assigned parking. In the winter, they don't plow the parking lot fully, and the neighbors all fight about spots that they shovel out. There is a guy that lives in my building that will literally attach a chain to his truck and rip your car out of a spot he shoveled. And he will not care if he does damage to your vehicle. Maintenance is pretty slow to respond and very unhelpful. You're better off trying to fix simple stuff yourself. They're pretty useless as far as I'm concerned. Doubt that will ever change. This place is all about cheap repairs. The company that owns the building is large...they own several properties. They don't really care about you or what you have to say they just want their money and want to run their business as cheaply as possible. The property manager is nice, but is totally useless when it comes to any of the issues with some of the neighbors. She'll send a notice to everyone about certain complaints, but if the situation doesn't get resolved, she doesn't do anything further than that. So if you like a nice apartment with gossipy neighbors that get VERY upset over the dumbest little things, dogs barking all day, and pretty much nobody to complain to about any technical issues you have other than your gossipy neighbors, this place is for you. We will be moving to Frederick next year.
This apartment complex is great, your close to grocey stores, pharmacy, lounges, laundry mats, there is one for each unite, there is a walking path for you and, your pet, play ground for your childern. It is well maintainSnow plowing in winter sidewalks, parking lots, greatplaces to eat ,veryfriendly area, staff is always on hand, close to airport, transportation buses runs everyday execpt sundays.
