Renters enjoy access to great schools and affordable to upscale housing options. Despite being only 4.5 square miles, Oak Park is one of the Windy City’s most diverse suburbs with more than 20 languages spoken. Oak Park is best known as the former home of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright, and contains the world’s largest collection of his designs. Along with historic homes, the village is packed with museums including the Ernest Hemingway Birthplace Museum. Along with a plethora of historical sites, this impressive village has a dynamic downtown district and an active arts scene.
Downtown Oak Park could rival a small city’s downtown district. Residents enjoy an abundance of specialty shops, a seven-screen theater, and an array of restaurants serving everything from deep-dish pizzas to decadent pastries.

Property Ratings at Fountainhead Apartments
This is hands down the best deal for an apartment you can get in Oak Park. Beautiful crown molding, large windows, lots of light, and classic details make this apartment so special. The closets are very big, kitchens have plenty of storage, and hardwood floors are a plus! Yes, it is an old apartment and centipedes and ants are an issue in every old apartment. The solution: Buy some Tempo dust on Amazon and spray it in the cracks and crevices. Did this in our apartment and there are significantly less bugs this year compared to last year and when they do pop up they're usually dead. You can also request the handy man to have an exterminator come by. All in all this is a wonderful apartment and you really can't beat it compared to all the cheap dingy high rises in the area. This building is a timeless beauty and you won't regret living here!
This apartment is adorable. It has a huge closet for a one bedroom and a beautiful courtyard. With that being said, I have had a problem with centipedes and ants. I live on the third floor so yes it was a surprise to me. But, the whole building is COVERED in ivy, so it wasn't mind blowing. It is very pretty outside, but ivy=bugs. Close to CTA. Walking distance to downtown Oak Park. 25 Min from the city. Quiet. Walk up. Only cats :( I'm a dog person.
