The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Fountain View Apartments
This is not the greatest apartment in Ames. You can easily go somewhere else for a better experience with management and living. The tenants get away with loud noises (stomping, yelling, music), arguing outside the apartment, and kids running up and down the halls. Additionally, management is not good to work with; not only do they refuse to help with noise but they are not empathetic to tenets if they need any administrative assistance. In short, go somewhere else. There’s cheaper and better apartments out there.
Absolutely terrible office support. Lived here 3 years, happy to be leaving. When we first moved in the keys to the apartment did not work well. We contacted maintenance and they came out and fixed the issue (we were able to keep the same keys). Fast forward three years and apparently now there is an issue with them not being able to access our unit with their master key. The contacted us about it and asked if we changed the locks, we never changed the locks. The told us that they would be changing the locks and giving us new keys for it, which is not a big deal. They gave us a time and date they were going to come change it, but never showed. They then threatened eviction because of their own failure to follow their word to solve a non-existent problem that they may have caused in the first place. There are plenty of other living options in the area in Ames, DO NOT rent with West End Living.
This place is completely awful. They have renovated some apartments, so they took the carpet out. Well they renovated the top floors so you hear EVERYTHING! Our walls shake because of our neighbors just walking around. On top of that, there is mold in our laundry room, and our air ducts have been completely disgusting the entire time, blowing dust. Maintenance took 3 weeks to come look at and then fix our garbage disposal, so our apartment reeked. Would not recommend this place to people.
