Located in south-central Indiana, Bloomington combines college-town energy with small-town appeal. As home to Indiana University's main campus with its 45,000 students, the city offers rich cultural and educational opportunities. The downtown area features both contemporary and historic buildings, anchored by the limestone Sample Gates that welcome visitors to IU's campus. Housing options include apartments near campus and residential neighborhoods throughout the city. Currently, renters can expect to pay around $1,116 for a one-bedroom apartment, with rental rates showing a modest annual increase of about 3.3%.
Bloomington's dedication to preserving green spaces earned its Tree City USA designation in 1984. The B-Line Trail connects downtown destinations, while Griffy Lake Nature Preserve and Lake Monroe provide hiking trails, boating, and fishing. Cultural attractions include performances at the restored 1922 Buskirk-Chumley Theater and exhibits at the Eskenazi Museum of Art.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Forest Ridge
My husband and I have loved the Wonderful environment and great maintenance team. The apartments are well thought out and utilized all the space well.
This place is good live peacefully and secure. The only issue is the maintenance other than the everything is good. I would recommend this place people who wants to live peacefully.
I’ve been moved in with Forest Ridge for about a week and while there are many positives to the community, like the location and space of the apartment itself. I love the space that Forest Ridge offers and the amenities that come with it. However, since moving in, there have been numerous maintenance issues that I have yet to have fixed. For example, our washer will not start, there’s is standing water in the dishwasher and we have yet to run it, the microwave doesn’t work at all, as well as a couple other minor things. With having just moved and paying for what we do, it is very frustrating to have these things still not fixed after being moved in for just over a week. I picked Forest Ridge for having in-unit laundry and for it to not work is very disappointing. We had been told maintenance would for sure come in last week and they never showed, it has been such a hassle to try and get this resolved. I hope this gets resolved soon and then my review would be a 5.
I’ve only lived here for three weeks but so far I absolutely love it.
We love it here. Honestly the only downside is the price but it’s about the same as any where else in Btown. We’ve lived in Forest Ridge since 2020 and have had minimal issues.
The apartment was good and had nice and decent amount of space. Need some more cleaning prior to handing it over. It will recommend for the people who wants to leave with peace.
I’ve lived here a bit over a month now and can’t complain about anything. The apartment is really nice and are modern. The price is great for what it is and I love having my own washer and dryer along with a walk in closet.
Love it here first ever apartment I’ve moved in and it feels like a real home rent is pricey but it’s well worth it. Definitely the easiest way for a first time apartment renter for sure
If you want constant harassment and discrimination for having kids and don’t care that locks don’t work or the wiring issues that make alarms go off for hours in the night or the homeless that live in the woods or the drug needles everywhere then this is the place for you. The management and maintenance is a joke. The manager at the time forced us out because we had kids. There were no kids living there. They rely on government subsidies from stonebelt and the incompetent management and maintenance could not care less about your safety or anything. Prices and fees began to increase. They will accuse you of not paying rent. This place should be shut down.
I lived in Forest Ridge from December 2018 to July 2020 and the only reason I moved out was because I'm moving out of state. I worked with Taylor from the beginning from the first inquiry and visit to the property to the very end when I moved out. Any question I had for him he was always there with a quick response. I'll have to admit I was a little worried about the reviews I read online before renting with Forest Ridge but I am so glad I gave them a chance. I've rented apartments in Bloomington for over 12 years and Forest Ridge/Hallmark has been my favorite property by far. What they lack in extra property amenities (gym, pool) they gain in customer service and security. I definitely recommend renting from them. Move-out was a breeze and as long as you take care of your place and leave it move-in ready when you leave there should be no reason you won't get your full deposit back in return.
