Property Ratings at Fairmont Apartments
Horrible Building, I just was in this building for 2 years because it was closer to the freeway. It was a bad choice. Sherman way traffic and noisy street. this is an unsafe property, the street is always overload with cars, there are 3 laundry rooms in this building that all of them are messy and the manager doesn't care about them, also the floor carpets, every week they shut off the water because of pipes. The tenants make noise late at night through the hallways. Please open your eyes before going into this building.
We've lived here for 7 years and have never had any major problems at all. The building is quiet, clean and well maintained. Repairs are handled quickly. It's a bit of a walk to the garage in the back but it's a safe structure. Great central location for the money. Overall we have been very happy here.
I have a friend who rents an apartment at the Fairmont. My friend is extremely clean, where you could eat off of the floor. Management had the apartment treated for roaches recently as well as my friend putting out traps and spraying further. When I was using the bathroom last week, there was a roach on the shower wall. Then more recently 2 more found in the same day. Seems to me they need stronger spray and need to spray all of the apartments, or they will keep coming back. This has strongly swayed my decision away from renting in this building. The stairwells are dirty and the lights have been out for some time in the back at the top of the stairs. If anyone falls, they have grounds for a lawsuit. There is no smoking in the building, but cigarette and other smoke comes in from the hallway thru the poorly weatherstripped doors and thru the air conditioner. You can hear the neighbors in the hallway and adjacent apartments very clearly with just their regular speaking voice. I even heard a neighbor yawn. Too many issues for the price. I am looking for another place to rent.
Nice basic apartment building. Clean and well maintained. Management is very responsive and does it's best to resolve any issue that may come up. Rent is reasonable for the area and it's close to public transportation. Even without a car it's easy to get around the area. There is a gated parking garage that has just been repaved. As a matter of fact, they are always updating and improving the property. That's a good thing. The pool and hot tub areas are kept clean and inviting. There is a mixture of young and old here and everyone seems to have the good neighbor thing down pat.
This is a great place to stay if you on a budget, quiet, responsive management and close to the 405 freeway.
This apartment is not amazing to live in. I have lived here for 16 years. They have barely renovted the whole building. In the past 16 years they only did a handful of renovations. They chnged the carpets in the hall ways, painted the hallway walls, and added a cheap fence that is already breaking. The only major "construction" that they did was "renovating" theparking garage. They painted and "leveled" the ground on the floors of each level. It is not sturdy at all and seems like itis going to collapse any second. Prepare to hear your neighbors every move because the walls are extremely thin. In the past we have asked to change the carpet in our house,but the manager said that she will have to increase our rent even though we are paying for the renovations with our own money. Also they changed the windows for the people who's windows face the driveway due to noise complaints from the cars driving. But they didnt want to change the windows who face Sherman Way traffic and where loud cars, trucks, and motorcycles pass on a daily basis. Also not once have they changed the linoleum in the kitchen and bathrooms since we have moved in here. Plus the "maintanence" guy doesnt even have a licsence to work as a "maintanence" guy and never does the job right the first time (i hope you are reading this carlos) :) Thus, i highly reccomend that you dont move into this building because of its lowsy living conditions and they constantly keep on increasing the rent by the hundreds!! ps. Lately there has been a hugs roach infestation.
